Turtle is busy chasing Zippy around the house. It's really cute.

I wish that some people at work weren't so immature and inconsiderate. I mean, I could handle one or two of them being that way, but when it's five or six that are always looking out for their own best interests, it sucks. Because I'm the one that gets screwed over every single time. I know when I grow up, I will work many holidays and so on. Pretty much every health profession that occurs, unless you're a vet or a dentist. But for goodness sakes, I'm not grown up yet. And I'm not going to keep making sacrifices for a company that treats me like crap and gives me anxiety out the roof.

Even though I didn't make anything barely, the little extra bit was still nice. And it's going to suck this summer because I'm not going to be able to get a job for the two months that I will be available.

hmm, I just looked here. If the pools open after May 27th, which is the last day of my EPPE rotation, I can lifeguard. I'll just need to figure out how to get recertified.

The bedroom is painted and it looks AMAZING.

Thursday, December 29, 2005

We went and adopted Turtle today. We took in all three kittens to get fixed yesterday but they held off on doing the surgery because they have the sniffles still. But we brought Turlte back home and have to take her back to get spayed after she gets off the antibiotics.

This morning, we spent the day preping the guest bedroom so that we can paint it. We are goign to paint it Merlin Blue, if anyone cares. Hopefully, it will look good.

Tomorrow, I am going to go see a movie with Joy and Swati from school. I don't know which movie we are seeing though.

New Year's eve is going to be with Chris and Lissa. Hopefully, I won't get paged out. Jeremy called a little bit ago and told me that he found out his wedding that day was at noon, so he can come too.

Um... what else? I love my new pencil sharpener.
Zippy has been cleaning Turtle to get the Humane Society smell off of her.
We took down the Christmas tree today.

And pictures finally off the camera. They are acting weird, so I'll just describe them. Jeremy. Mona and the baby. perhaps. Jeremy and the baby. Me cuddling with Maybe. Mona and me on Christmas eve. Zippy being gay. Me with Turtle on the last day of finals. Fiath and the baby. All three kittens.
And for the enitre online community to see... me scrupping the floor in my undies.

well, I just quit my job.

Here's the letter I wrote to Craig, the floor manager:

I can cover both those days and it looks like I'm on call Jan. 6th. But I've already talked to Barb and I'm turning in my two weeks notice. After the 6th, I am requesting that I no longer be on the schedule. If you guys need me, I will remain on emergency pull status. This past semester, I've had numerous problems with scheduling and it has given me more stress than I care to have. On several occassions, I have been scheduled during block testing to work even though I had requested those days off. I was able to move those shifts to other people, but I was left in a situation in which I "owe" the boys. During one of my blocks, I was even placed on call on a Sunday but no one even bothered to call and tell me that I was on the schedule. I didn't even find out until one of the on call pharmacists called me at home and asked me why I wasn't answering the pages. I had to go into the pharmacy after taking four tests the previous two days and needing to take 2 more tests the next day. I understand it was just a miscommunication, but it seems like the entire semester has been a huge miscommunication. It's given me a lot of anxiety and I don't really want to deal with it anymore. I also believe that the scheduling of holidays was handled incorrectly. I offered to take oncall for Thanksgiving because I would be in town, but was not given it. But I was automatically put on call for the weekend of Christmas and New years'. I went out of town Friday, Sat and Sun and I currently "owe" Zack for covering me because he was in town for Christmas. I was scheduled without it being discussed and I am assuming this is because my default schedule is usually Friday and Saturday. I thought incorrectly that for the holidays, the on call people would discuss who would be in town for the holidays and possible do half shifts. This is what I remember doing last year. For all it's worth, I felt so guilty about it, I came in Saturday morning to help out at the pharmacy before I left town and I also took on call from Zack midnight Saturday when I got back in town until Sunday morning at the change over time. But I guess it's not worth much because now I'm working New Year's eve and New Year's day.

Again, I will remain on emergency pull status if you guys need me to.

Big Fish makes me cry but that baby sure does make me laugh.

Best Christmas EVER!

Yesterday was wonderful. Usually, I don't really look forward to the holidays but it was so nice yesterday seeing my family and my sisters and my parents and stuff. WE got there a few minutes late to Louisville because I had to rewrap AJ's presents because one of the dogs decided to get into it. What they wanted wtih socks, I don't know.

I piled by plate so full I almost lost some peas. But it was good. And do you know how many nonvegetarian things there were? one. the ham. It was wonderful. I got peas and green beans and corn and cornbread and cucumber salad and rolls and yams and and I'm sure other things that I can't remember. I ran out of room htough and had to start stacking vertically. But that's the good thing about holiday food. It all goes well together.

And then the presents... they were perfect. I got charmin toliet paper and sharpies and a pencil sharpener and a watch and it was just so nice. I never smiled so much opening presents before. the only thing I didn't really like that much was the coasters that I got form my aunt and uncle, and that's only because we have a coaster breeding problem already. we have a ton of them.

Jeremy got me Big Fish and a rascal flats cd and new shoes from llbean and a makeup bag (currently, all my makeup is in an empty tampon box... it needed an upgrade0.

The animals didn't fair too badly either. Maybe and Perhaps each got two toys and Zippy got three toys and some catnip. It was so cute when I gto Zippy to open his cat nip because he was actually interested in what was going on.

I've finally started the 6th Harry potter book after being harassed by Jeremy for forever. I'm about 100 pages in.

Today, we are going to clean the kitchen and then we are going to spend time with Jeremy's mom and sister again when they come into town.

got to go. Left overs are calling.

Friday, December 23, 2005

The wedding was beautiful.

All of our Christmas presents are wrapped except for Becca's which is not yet purchased.

I am sleepy.

this weekend is going to be CRAZY. lots of driving around.

yep... that's it
a fast update before we go and tackle the Christmas shoppers.

Last night we went over to pharm. Chris' for dinner. He made homemade pizza and it was good. THen we went to go see KING Kong and that was good too I guess.

I slept late this morning and then got up to cut Jeremy's hair. I accidently messed up and he sort of has a bald section, but we'll see if anyone notices.

Turtle is so cute. she purrs every time you even touch her or look at her cross eyed.

Cosi is the best.

$1 movies at the library are the best. You should go see polar express. It's good.

*cue cheesy country music*

It's a great day to be alive when the sun's still shining when you close your eyes.

Yeah right, if I could go to bed at 5 pm.

I just feel good. I keep on going to look at my grades to make sure they haven't changed. I now feel like this last semester wasn't a waste. I completely revamped my studying habits and didn't procastinate too bad and stayed on top of things and I was able to get straight A's for the first time since like elementary school. Someone needs to buy me a sundae or something.

Jeremy made me congradulations cucumber salas and man, was it good.

We are adopting the little long haired girl Turtle. She is a cutie pie.

Yum, Jeremy is making pancakes and they smell soooo gold. Or at least the butter he is using smells so good.

Jeremy is going Christmas shopping today, I am going tomorow morning and then tomorrow later, we are going shopping for the rest of the family and friends. And then Friday is Louisville for the wedding, Saturday morning at the pharmacy for me and then that night Ashland. Sunday morning our house for our Christmas and then Christmas afternoon back to Louisville again.

my break has just flown by.

Well...
I am so glad school is over for everyone...My kids are on winter break... since you can't say CHRISTMAS any more....
Well actually Bullitt county lets you say Christmas. It even wished us Merry Christmas in the newsletter....
I got an A, I know I got an A...
Woo hoo.. it is great to be in graduate school isn't it Virginia?

I hate those survey things. Look they put my last post way at the bottom and no one said any comments. Did I tell you I have the best sisters on the planet.
And I like my bother in laws that are married to my sisters. I can do with out the other halfs inlaws.
What do you all think about Pit Bulls? Do you really think it makes a difference how they are raised? Virginia especailly answer this cause you know so much about animals it will be less opinion and more fact than anything else.
Did you know that working to make someone else rich is disgusting. I am looking for another job. I want to the boss. GOT IT? Oh well, my time will come.

Well enough about me... I hope to see all my family during the holidays this year.

Saturday, December 17, 2005

And then there were none.

Actually, and then there were none yesterday. I slept so well last night. It was wonderful. I did wake up at 3am and got up and walked around for a bit but then I went back to bed. You know why? Cuz I didn't have to study! Woohoo!

I think we are going to get the little long hair girl kitty. I really like all three of them, but that little girl is so pretty.

I hope I get good grades. I know that I will. I guess I hope that I get all A's but I have a feeling that I won't. I guess we will see.

Today, I got up and cleaned the dishes and some laundry. And then I watched tv with jeremy and just relaxed. Then I headed into work. It actually wasn't too stressful today because I wasn't worrying about not studying.

Hmm... I think I'm going to go play some old school nintendo. Jeremy is at work until pretty late, so I'm home alone but surprisingly not very lonely at all. I called Chris Z. and he and Emily got their new little pug puppy yesterday. He said she was really cute. Ha, all three kittens are currently in my lap. Yesterday, he came up to me before the antbiotic final and I gave him a tin of Jeremy's mom's homemade candy and then he said something but I didn't really registered what he said. And then later I realized that I had basically sat there and ignored him so I called to ask him what the hell he said. Little sleep and a fried brain makes Virginia a little out of it. They're coming over to maybe adopt one of the kitties, so I hope they like one.

one more final and then i'm done with the semester! Last one is antibiotica and I'm all about going ahead and taking it now. But I have to wait for another three hours. I broke down and took Benadryl yesterday afternoon and got a five hour nap. I haven't been able to sleep at all. It's been really freaky. I've never had insomnia before. I've gotten about 2 hours a night since Sunday and I was runny on fumes. It was horrible. And it wasn't from lack of trying to sleep. It's just I would lay down and I couldn't stop thinking. And four hours later, I would look at the clock and figure I should get up and start studying again. But I feel 100 times better now. Although, I had my nap from 1:30 to about 6:30 and then when I tried to go to bed later last night, I couldn't. I ended up sleeping from around 11 and then I've been up since 1:15 this morning. But I've gotten alot done.

I hate cumulative finals. They are so retarded.

But I love me some kittens. They are getting over their sniffles.

Wednesday was Jeremy's birthday and we went out to dinner to Malones. It wasn't that great. They got all three of our orders wrong. We were going to go to thai smile but cuz of the drive and cuz there was a vegeatrian option at malones, we went there. I felt bad that I was so out of it on his birthday. I'll make up for it over Christmas.

got to go and study!

Tuesday, December 13, 2005

Man, I feel rough. And it's only Tuesday. I have OTC and CAPP tomorrow. I'm going into both classes with an A, so hopefully I will be able to maintain them. I tried to take a nap, I couldn't fall asleep. Is that how you spell maintain. it looks strange. I think drug design went ok although it was a three hour test and within the first 15 minutes I started to freak out because on the first page it said we couldn't get up unless we were turning in the exam. and I was worried I would have to pee. 3 hours is a long time. but I didn't

Did we ever tell you that Zippy is gay? Well, this new little boy kitten confirms it. I expect him to put on studs, a whip and start humping him any second. I mean seriously, he completely ignores the other kittens but follows the little boy around meowing and purring and playing with him like he's his long lost love. Last night Zippy pinned him down for a good 3 minutes on his back so he could lick and clean him. that's just obscene. I always thought he was gay because he will leave me high and dry whenever Jeremy was home so he could cuddle with him. I mean seriously, we've had the kittens a week and I think the wedding is already planned for this weekend.

Monday, December 12, 2005

wow... I never knew I was so loved. I think this is a record. I think everyone has posted this month... that's amazing.

I needed to get a 102/130 to get an A in Biochem. I got a 104:)

The kittens are sniffling all over the place.

Not Moving

Since VA has mentioned that I don't update my blog, I thought I would update hers. hehe. Anyway, I am no longer moving to Houston as previously planned. But I am still quitting my job. Today, as a matter of fact. If anyone knows some good part-time jobs in Louisville, let me know. Greg got a great job with Bank of America.

Those survey things are way too freaking long and I think that VA should let her husband get more fun gifts than undergarmets. Even though those can be fun too, just not the kind she is asking for.

Yesterday, Jeremy said "what are you going to do when everyone you don't like moves away? You won't have anyone to not care about."

He said this in mention to the fact every time I get bored with studying, I take my breaks googling people. Not just people that I don't like, but people from high school and stuff. I even found a blog from my sister, which she never updates.

I'm a blog stalker. I've been reading a girl's from highschool. We were pretty good friends back then in high school and even in middle school but I've never left a comment just because I don't even know how I found her blog. I just think I fell upon it one day and added it to my favorites. Anyways, she's pregnant and expecting and I know she's going to be a great mom but I can't really write and tell her that cuz I haven't talked to her in like five years.

I told him that I would be glad. I would be glad if they moved away forever. So then I wouldn't have to not care anymore.

I don't want to stink...

Since Ginny thinks it stinks that I haven't updated the blog with her.. I am doing that now. Been working more than anything. Have a huge presentation to do Tuesday night and one of our team mates is in the hospital.
And of course we did his company...
Dang the luck, right?
I am looking forward to my vacation in JUNE... Did I ever tell you what a great sister I have? And then Mom is paying my gas and that other terrific sister of mine is getting us beach stuff.
WOW!!!
After next week, I am off school until January.
This is a good thing because we have end of the year stuff.
LOTS of it at work.
Anyway... Ashley is beautiful.. I found a picture of Ashley and me together on the Halloween after she was born... Then I found other pictures. So this weekend, when I should be working on my project, I am quite sure I will be looking through pictures.
Life is good... when you are manic. :)

Wednesday, December 07, 2005

I really should be at school studying but instead I'm sitting at home writing a blog entry. But there's stuff to write about!

We have three kittens from the Humane Society. They are sooooo cute. Two look like they uses to be reese cups and then someone put them in a blender and spit them back out. And one of the reese cups is long haired and she is going to be BEAUTIFUL when she gets older. The last one looks like a chocolate lab but in a cat version. They are so sweet too. They purr like crazy and when you open the door to the bathroom, they run striaght into your lap to cuddle. How sweet.

I've lost another pound. I'm very proud of myself. Usually, when I start a diet, I'm on it like a day or two and then I forget or don't care anymore. But I've been being good since the 27th of November. I'm hoping by the end of January I can be down to the size I was at the wedding. But, there's finals next week, so we'll see how that goes.

Last night we did get Chinese, but I only ate half and I'm going to get Jeremy to eat my left overs. People keep on giving me little bags of candy at school too, but I've managed to give it most of it away. It was sweet of them to think of me.

I'm wearing my size 8 jeans today after not having been able to wear them since the end of last semester. But, they are still tight and I bet I may have a stomach ache by the end of the day.

oh well... off to study. I HAVE to get big sections of work knocked out today. I've been getting little pieces done here and there and that isn't good enough.

Monday, December 05, 2005

I didn't get one single page of notes studied yesterday. opps. I'll make it up this week. I told Jeremy last night that I was going to go into panic mode, so he should get ready. I haven't gotten there yet, but I'm sure I will.

Yesterday I had to go to Bluegrass and Taylor Manor in Versailles. And we went out to brunch at Alfalfa's with Sarah and her sister. And then before dinner I took like a three hour nap. Did I mention I had to get up in the middle of the night to go to Ridge. That was fun. Then we went out to dinner with Chris and Emily and that was nice. And I ate really healthy too. I had like three glasses of water and a blueberry buckwheat pancake at brunch with only half the syrup and then last night I only had a salad and a baked potato with sour cream. I was stuffed too at the end of the meal. I think it was because I've been eating less that ususal and my stomach has been getting smaller.

Jeremy has a lot to do today. He's hopefully fixing the brakes on his car (he stripped one of the bolts and has been working on getting it out with other means), getting some kittens from the humane society if they have them, fixing the toliet in out bathroom (the water keeps on running but he can't get to it to fix a valve because the cabinet thing we have over it)... I guess that's it.

Friday, December 02, 2005

yep

i think i'm going to write this entry all in lower case. ha.

i got home from school at around 12ish because we had a class cancelled and then we move another class up earlier this morning. i said good bye to jeremy because he was leaving for work right when i was coming home from school. then i veggied on the couch and watched tv. i ended up falling asleep and didn't wake back up unitl kathie called from work. and that was at 7. then i talked to ma mere for a bit and started studing. i did 3 blocks of 45 minutes with 15 min breaks. i got a bunch done but now my head hurts and i think i'm going to go back to bed.

sunday we are going to be very busy. and tomorrow jeremy is going to be very busy. he has to work really late tonight and then turn around and go back to work at 7 i think. and then he's driving to the ville to watch his old high school football team play for some big thing. i don't really know. sitting in the cold for any reason is beyond me. i hope that he's ok driving. i, on the other hand, will surely be at the pharmacy all day.

but on sunday we are going out to lunch with an old friend from transy and then we are going out to dinner with chris and emily. they are getting a new puppy and they're borrowing our kiddy gate and we're going to give them some training tips. i hope I'm (ew... i just put a capital i) able to get alot of studying done. and i hope this eating out doesn't completely mess with my diet. although tonight, i've been really proud of myself. i haven't eaten anything after 8 pm, which i always do and i always regret doing. and i've found myself wondering into the kitchen during my 15 minute break several times and looking for something to eat without even realizing what i was doing. i'll eat really healthy tomorrow and not get any candy from phyllis's station so that it'll make up for the ton of food i'll eat on sunday. sometimes i wish i could throw away extra food, but i just can't. it's a problem. i'll get jeremy to eat my left overs though so i can go back on my diet monday.

Blah.

Diets stink.

Cramps stink.

Being home alone stinks when I have cramps.

Having a ton of work to do stinks.

Garlic summer sausage stinks. Literally.

Going out to dinner with friends maybe tomorrow doesn't stink.

Only fitting into two pairs of jeans stink.

People telling you you're skinny when you only fit into two pairs of jeans stinks.

Making a kick ass Christmas tree topper doesn't stink.

Seeing old friends from Transy doesn't stink.

Jeremy finally updating the freaking blog doesn't stink.

No one else updating the blog for several months does stink.

Finals coming up in two weeks stinks.

My sister aiming me hehe and making me smile doesn't stink.

Puppies don't stink (especially after Jeremy gave the muddest one a bath yesterday).

Jeremy just calling me on the phone just now doesn't stink.

Sunday, November 27, 2005

Well,
I've gotten little to nothing done this holiday break but I'm completely ok with that. I really needed the break. Everyone cross your fingers that the pager doesn't go off again. I was out 2 hours this morning straight making runs.

Oh, and Zack calls me at 1 and wants to know if he's on call. Because his study group is starting in a few hours. *blink*
I had to remind him that I was catching him in a lie (either to me or Bram). It pisses me off so badly. I just don't want to quit because we could use the extra money over the holidays with me working. It just makes my blood boil that I get screwed over all the time. He knew I was pissed to say the least. I mean seriuosly.... if he could have been on call this morning, why the f*** did he wait until 1 to call me and find out what the deal was? The last time I checked, on call started at 10:30 am. What an asshole. I'm so sick of it.

Oh well. It's the drama in life that keeps it interesting I guess.

On a happier note, Jeremy and I had a really cute rest of the day together. We watched some of the DVD's that we bought and cuddled and played with the doggies.

I love the way Jeremy smells when he doesn't have to work. When he does work and he comes home late, I tell him he's stinky, like Marriott sex. Cuz if that hotel had sex, that's what it would smell like. Like dirty carpets and old roast beef and dusty center pieces. It's gross.

But he smells good tonight, so that's all that matters.

Laters!

Jeremy made some really good food. I tried to help, but eventually he kicked me out of the kitchen for being in the way. But I did make the cornbread for the AMAZING homemade cornbread stuffing that we made. And I washed some vegetables. um... that's it.

We stopped by and got some alcohol from the liquor barn but then we didn't even drink anything. That's funny. We also got 8 pounds of navel oranges from Meijer. Man, are those things addicting.

Jeremy got up this morning and went and did his day after Thanksgiving day sale. I sacrificed and stayed in bed with the puppies so they won't get cold. I know, but someone had to do it.

Anyways, he got all three HP dvds for $5 each, new gloves and a hat for me for $4, a DVD burner for $20, a thing of 50 blank DVDs for like $7 I think, the incedibles and some history movie with Orlando bloom in it. Oh, and other memory card for the digital camera but I don't know how much that cost.

He's so cute. I don't know what the hell happened a few months ago with our relationship, but I'm glad it's over.

I have to work tomorrow and that makes me sad. And I have to work on Sunday on call for Zack because Bram asked him to cover his shift and Zack said yes. Of course, today Zach remembers he has a study group at 12. Yeah right. There's a reason that boy is going to be a 6th year senior and it sure isn't because of all the "study" groups he attends. It just pisses me off because I know he's not going to a study group and he sure as hell isn't going to be doing it until 10:30 Monday morning. I, on the other hand, would actually be studying. And this is after I already covered for him on Wednesday night.

oh well. I always complain about work and yet I'm still there. What does that say about me? I'm a whiner. But seriously, I'm really sad about tomorrow. There was suppose to be another tech there tomorrow because they finally listened to everyone's butching about it but he cut his finger today really bad and even had to go to the ER. I hope that he's ok. I'm not "suppose" to be in until two but I've already gotten two phone calls asking if I can come in at 9am. Of course, I would love to come in at 9 and work 12 hours. I have nothing better to do.

I think Jeremy is going to the UK game tomorrow. I hope that he enjoys it. I wouldn't have gone anyway because really, me and the cold don't work well together.

I think that's it. Have a happy after thanksgiving day!

So, how about an update for all the loyal readers?

This past Sunday was very nice and just what I needed. To not have to think, be around people I love and not feel stupid about anything I say.

And then Monday was a nice night spending it with Kyle and Julie on a double date although I got super tired at the very end. I could barely keep my eyes open because of the stupid contacts I have. But, on a happy note, I had lots of Olive Garden salad, which equates to a small piece of paradise.

Today we didn't have class because two classes were cancelled and then the other two were moved to Tuesday. But I ended up going into work to help out from 1 until close. And then Zack asked me to take on call for him so I said that I would.

We went to the store this morning and got lots of goodies for tomorrow. It's going to be great! I am very excited. Jeremy is going to try this new cornbread stuffing recipe. Although we both just realized that we forgot to get vegetable stock for it.

Oh, in other news, we found out that maybe was a purebred. Who knew? We were at the bookstore and were looking through this dog book and we found a picture that looked just lik Maybe. Jeremy's going to stop in at a kennel in Ashland who breds the type of dog that maybe is. Anyways, we are pretty sure she is something called a large musterlander. You should google it and check it out.

Saturday, November 19, 2005

why oh why... I'm only suppose to work from 2 to 5 but I worked 12 hours straight instead? why?

Thursday, November 17, 2005

Jeremy came home with tickets for the midnight showing of Harry Potter.

So guess what we are doing tonight. I'm going to read the last book that came out over Christmas break. I promise.

My toe is infected and oozing gross stuff.

I had my first video counseling today. That's where the college hires a bunch of actors to come in and act as patients and we are suppose to find out their problem and counsel them. At the end, they tell you how you did and what your grade is for that part. I got 100%! My actor told me that I was the first one who actually got on the parts. I was pretty excited.

I could totally do this in real life. Ha!

I'm getting ready to go and hit the books... maybe take a nap if I get sleepy.

Last night was WONDERFUL. Two thumbs up for the resturant we went to. It was great!

I have three checks that I still haven't cashed from the last three pay periods at work. I guess they are too small to even think about but then I was adding them up and there's almost $600. I'm glad I don't have to live off my income. Jeremy got paid $660 for last week. I got less than three hundred for that past month and a half... how lame is that?

Remember a few posts back where I said I hated Marriott? Well, that's because the evil woman over there that's Jeremy's boss's boss brought in a new manager from a completely different department to take the job that Jeremy has been wanting for the past forever. But Jeremy found out yesterday that he's actually making a few thousand more than said manager. So, even if it isn't true, I'm going to think that they didn't give Jeremy the job because they didn't want to have to pay him more then what they are now. I still hate them though.

But Jeremy has good hours and he makes good money and he likes his job... so even though he only has a supervisor label behind his name and not a manager label... it's all just a pride thing and all good.

Wednesday, November 16, 2005

Today was a long day. I was at school, in lecture, from 8 to 5 today, with an hour break for lunch... I only feel asleep once though.

I'm waiting for Jeremy to ge thome so we can go out to eat at a Mexican resturant (I don't know which one yet) and then we are going to go and get me a tape for my video counseling session tomorrow. fun, fun.

Today was cold.

my finger hurts.

Monday, November 14, 2005

Before I forget, I would like an electronic pencil sharpener for Christmas.

And toliet paper... the nice kind.

And really sturdy 3+ inch binders.

And a black ink cartlidge (Lexmark 70... 20 if you want to get us a colored one too).

And some cool colored pens.

Zippy would like some cat treats.

Jeremy needs new underwear and black socks and white under shirts.

Sunday, November 13, 2005

I miss Jeremy a lot. He is on his way home from South Bend soon though.

Two more tests and then I'm done!

Until next month of course.

Lynne called me and wanted to know why I wasn't answering the pages. Apparently, the boys put me on call today even though I requested this weekend off because of tests AND to put a cherry on top, they didn't even bother to call and tell me.

I'm really fed up with them.

Tuesday, November 08, 2005

where are all the posters?
And then there were three. I got a buch done yesterday and I have no idea why this is styping out underlined. Today, the goal is Capp Monographs, OTC, and CAPP handouts. Off to eat cold pizza and then CApp monographs. I only have to be at school today from 10 to noon. that's pretty exciting!

Monday, November 07, 2005

days until tests start!

(please feel free to print this picture from the site and color it in. I'm here to serve the masses in their numbers and educations. I do what I can.)

Sunday, November 06, 2005

I love how the doggies always follow me around whenever I move around the house into another room. Now, I am off to go take a nap with them before I start studying for the day:)

Saturday, November 05, 2005

two posts in one day... I haven't done that in forever. Especially right before the start of blocks.

This morning I got up bright and early (at like 6:30am) and went to welsey village to drop off some visit meds. They didn't need it until 10, but I figure I should do it early just to get it out of the way and so I could have the mornign to study.

The drive back was so pretty. Wesley is in Wilmore, Ky. If you have nothing better to do, you should go out there and just drive around. It was cool to watch the sunrise.

I came back and finished a drug design report and finished up the rest of studying for drug design except for like three pages. Then I took a nap and woke up at like 1:45. I had to be at work at 2 but it was all good. Times like today I'm so glad that I live so close to work. Work was sort of rough. It stinks that I only work like twice a month and all the stuff I learn with the new computer system I forget the next time I work. I'll work over Christmas break and hopefully it will get better.

Towards the end of work, my head started hurting like crazy. I've been having really bad headaches the past four nights in a row. So, I came home and took some ibu and watched tv. Until the pager went off... it was a nurse at one of the facilities who was trying to phone in a morphine order. Which wasn't going to happen. For those of you who don't know, morphine is a CII which is the highest narcotic you can get without getting into the really bad stuff, like cocaine. Anyway, those orders have to come written from a Dr., with their DEA number, no copies and basically their name written in blood on the rx. Not so much can a nurse call into a pharmacy and say "hey, send some my way" even if the person is on their death bed.

I was told to go into the pharmacy and wait. No one shows up for 45 minutes. And then it was one of those "oh, we gave him another Lortab and he fell asleep." I'm glad that the guy wasn't in pain. it just frustrates me that doctors and nurses don't know basic law about the drugs they deal with on a daily basis.

But, on my 2 minute drive back home, I talked to Jeremy and he's stopping by steak and shake to be a sweety. I'm not really in the mood for food, but he was so sweet about it I couldn't turn him down.

Tomorrow the plan is to sleep late (cross your fingers that if the pager goes off, it is after 10:30) and then get up and study for CAPP, OTC, and antibiotics. CAPP and OTC ain't no thang, but antibiotics will be big. I'll get through it though. I always do.

I need to drink more water.
I hate Marriott.

I love Jeremy. He made me feel better even though I hate Marriott.

Big changes coming up. I'll keep you updated. Please cross your fingers that everything will be ok.

I wish I were done with school so we wouldn't have to put up with so much bullshit.

I hate Marriott.

A quick update before I go back to study.

After a few corrections and some extra credit points, I think the grades for the last set of tests are 5 A's and 1 C-. Don't worry too much about the C- though.... He's already thrown out two questions because they were incorrect and he sure as hell better throw out about 6 more because he was wrong on the answers. The test went so bad, he is refusing to release the average test score for the class. It's that bad.

And yet, it only seems like yesterday that we had our last block of exams... but I have another set coming up next week. And I am no where close to being done studying. Although, I did make it through most of physiology and I'm getting ready to start drug design.

Jeremy has to work tonight and a TRIPLE tomorrow. I feel bad for him. I have to work too so that's going to stink. I really need to study. I hope that I get a ton done Sunday.

Next weekend Jeremy is going up to South Bend for the weekend. I just told him to make sure I have food and clean underwear before he leaves so I won't get freaked out. Of course, I'll get freaked out anyway.

I had a horrible dream last night. I dream that Jeremy left me in the parking lot of a resturant so that he could go eat with another girl and I was all scared and upset and I was trying to find Chris so he could comfort me and tell me that it would be ok and I was walking around this huge manision and I couldn't find him. But then I found the other Chris from school but he kept on running away from me. And when I woke up I was crying and I curled up next to Jeremy nd squeezed his hand really hard and felt really lonely.

This morning I told him about it and he said not be insecure. But it's so hard not to be insecure when I spend the majority of the time because stressed out and tired and studying and bitchy and not doing anything to make Jeremy love me. Last night Jeremy made me dinner and got me medicine when my head hurt and turned off the TV when I complained about not being able to study. All I did was cuddle with him for a bit and then I put a load of laundry in the washer. I suck at being a wife. Jeremy is a better wife and husband than I will ever be.

I did get him some chapstick today because he's lips have been chapped. That counts for something, right? And I got him a butterfinger crisp because those are his favorite. And I called and told him I loved him. Other than that, nothing.

This weekend was wonderful.... more so than I ever expected.

I wish that there were smart, intelligent, witty people in Lexington.

Liz and Tim were so beautiful. It was so sweet to watch them get married. I could tell that it really meant alot to Jeremy that he was in their wedding.

Cedar Point was a blast too. There weren't many people there at all.

We went over to Chris and Emily's apartment tonight for a little bit and had some awesome bean dip. But the party was cut to an end because Jeremy has to get up for work at 4 am.

How awesome is it that we ran out of halloween candy and we ended up having to give out packs of crackers and oatmeal. Sorry to the 5 kids who had to suffered with breakfast and lunch food.

There was a guy at the wedding who totally looked like Orlando Bloom.

The doggies peed all over themselves when they finally saw us. It was cute, besides that whole pee on the carpet thing.

My lips are very chapped but Jeremy came to my rescue tonight and brought me home chapstick. He's my hero.

It doesn't matter what you do with your life as long as you're happy. We need to remember this more often.

Friday, October 28, 2005

Perhaps got out and then she was found but I was all freaked out. She's staying at Jeremy's boss' house while we are in South Bend and I was FREAKED out when he called this morning and said she had gotten out. Jeremy drove all the way over there and found her in like 2 secs so I feel better. But my heart is still in my throat. That dog.... I tell ya! She can fit through a mouse hole.

Tuesday, October 25, 2005

I love my sister.

Sunday, October 23, 2005

Now the tally is 2 A's and 2 B's.

Next weekend is going to be great. I'm very excited about it. I am also excited that Jeremy is going to be making lasagna for dinner tonight.

Ketchup is such a weird thing. It's completely gross by itself, but we put it on everything. Seriously, it's just a big glob of stuff when it's still in the bottle. Pretty gross. Did you know that Jeremy hates ketchup? That and gum.

I hate beef jerky and car rides and rabbit. Now, those smells can cause some gagging.

Does anyone want to come over and iron all my clothes?

Um..here's a cute picture. It's the Siamese kittens that we foster cared.

Friday, October 21, 2005

Today was a wonderful day. A great day to be exact. Even though it rained a bit. I wasn't outside when it was doing it, so I didn't get wet at all. Great timing.

Jeremy got two new suits today for work. And a pink shirt. It was great.

Then we went to pet smart and got the dogs a little bed but right when we got home, Zippy took up residency in it. Oh well... as long as some one uses it.

We paid another $3000 off on Fairfield today. I am SOOOOOO excited about being out of debt on today.

Have I told you that I love cucumber salad? Jeremy and I made another batch today. It's so goooooooood. I could totally eat that everyday.

I have a million things that I should be doing. But I'm not going to. I'll do them later on this week.

The printer's all ghetto. I need to get Jeremy to look at it.

There wasn't any halloween costumes at the store for Maybe and Perhaps. That made me sad. But I did get them some of those corn starch dog bones that cost 14 freakin dollars for 3. I left them knaw on it for about $1 worth each and then I put it up later.

Tests so far.... one A and one B. Hopefully the other's went well too.

people do stupid things when they have regrets. I know, I do the same things. But just because I do the stupid things doesn't mean I'm going to help you do the stupid things. And in fact, I think I'm going to stop doing my stupid things because I realized how stupid you looked doing your stupid things. And it's all pretty stupid. But I guess it's hard not to care anymore. But wouldn't we be in better places, places that are overall less stupid, if we stopped caring. Sometimes caring just makes it worse. And more stupid.

Alas, Rebecca is doing fine and not stupid at all and very beautiful and is excited about her new life and the future kids she's going to have and getting done with school and being with her new husband and all those little things that makes her happy. and not stupid. So, that's all you need to know. Nothing from that will change anytime in the near future, and if it does, you can find out from your own family who still TALKS to her. So, store that in your little stupid head and be on your way.

updates updates beautiful beautiful updates

get ready for a random post....

Some of my professors are shady. I never had a problem with any of my professors at Transy really, but I sure do at UK.

For example, my drug design prof took off 5 points out of 30 because my homework assignment wasn't "neat" enough. All the answers were right, and the paper wasn't torn or ripped or stained. Apparently, I can't erase things on a four page math assignment, I have to start all over.

5 points for erase marks. give me a break.

And then there's CAPP. Every single one of us (meaning all 131 of us) got 5 points taken off of our 15 point lab because one of the lab instructors found a copy of someone's lab homework and they assumed that it was going around to everyone and they were copying it. Would they listen when we told them that like over 75% of us had copied our assignment because it takes them like 3 weeks to get assignments back and we needed it for the test we were having in less than a week to study for. Of course not... Everyone gets at least a D for the lab, that's assuming that you did the other sections perfectly.

Shady I tell you.

It drives me crazy that we spent the last week going over stuff for the Autonomic Nervous System and i memorized all those damn alpha and beta and muscarinic and blah blah crap and what innervates what for the test. And then we start a new section today with a different instructor and guess what? We are going to spend the next 4 weeks going over the exact same stuff. Except this time, he is actually going to teach it to us instead of making us memorize all that stupid crap just for it to fall out of our heads the minute we step out the door.

I'm a tad flustered from all those exams. Can you tell?

I want to take a nap (there's a new one!). But I can't because all the bedroom beds have been slept in by strangers... not really stangers but Mona and her boy and another guy from their school. they spent the night last night. I made some really good chili... we put in peppers and tomatoes from the garden. it was great.

Maybe i'll get a sleeping bag and sleep on the floor. At leats until Jeremy gets home.

Oh, some other news. Jeremy is going to be in Tim's wedding and we have to figure out a way for me to not have to miss class and for us to still go up there together. I would be missing CAPP (the one class where attendance is actually taken) and it would be two hours of it. I don't know what to do yet.

Jeremy and I really need next weekend to spend some quality time together. Pharmacy school has been really stressful for me. I come home, i do homework, i take a nap, more homework i go to sleep, i wake up, go workout, go study, go to school and then i start it all over again. I told Jeremy that I felt like I was having an affair with pharmacy school. And it's not going to stop anytime soon.

Today when I was on the ellipitial machine, I was thinking about moving down to florida and having a huge house with an exercise room and a little apartment in the basement or something in case we needed to take care of our parents and a nursery amd a 3 car garage and having really nice stuff and a big backyard and having 9 to 5 jobs after the kids get into school.

Funny, that stuff will never happen. Maybe when we're 80 or something. Jeremy and I could totally live off our incomes that we have now for the rest of our lives. We have everything we want or need (Jeremy may mention that he wants a mini cooper, but I'm not going to justify that with a response :P). It's going to be strange when we make a lot of money. I feel like we're making alot of money now (you know, with me working a whole 2 days a week) even with one income because we are able to pay off like $1000 worth of debt every month, at least when we don't any sick babies to worry about. My goal is to have all the student loans paided of (at least for undergraduate) but the time I get out of school. I wonder if that will happen. I can't believe we've spent over $5000 because of sick animals in the past 2 years. I wouldn't change a thing though. I'm glad that kids get covered by health insurance for when we do have them I bet when we have kids, no amount of money will be enough. Ha!

If we won the lottery, I bet we could totally force BB&T to give us back our $7 that they STOLE from us.

tomorrow i have to be at school from 7 until 5. that's goign to stink.

Saturday, October 15, 2005

who in their right mind writes a 26 page biochem test?

The same person who leaves the answer key for 1 of the 2 essays on the test when he passes them out.

I'm a tad tired. I just had to retype those last sentences a few times because I can't keep my eyes open. I wish I knew what the autonomic nervous did. I got up to study but I don't think that's going to work.

Thursday, October 13, 2005

OK, I give up. You win. I'll stop bothering you now.

Tuesday, October 11, 2005

I had to go the emergency room this morning. It was sort of scary. But I'm better now. Just hope that whatever bit me in the neck while I was sleeping doesn't ever come back. In a little over an hour, my mouth was swollen shut and I had trouble breathing. The doctor said the next time it happens I may not be so lucky because the reaction will go much faster.

Sunday, October 09, 2005

Ok, I'm totally going to start studying. Any second now. Really.

So, I have six tests in less than a week. And I am no where near ready. Like, I've done all the prep reading and taken notes on my notes and all that jazz but I haven't actually sat down and MEMORIZED anything. Which is a huge problem because the ratio of common sense knowledge that I need to know and the memorization part I need to know is like 1:9.

So, I bet you're wondering what happened right? I mean, here I am with my amazing three day weekend and I haven't gotten anything accomplished. Well folks, I have my first cold of the season. And not just a cold, but one of those sinus things that makes my head feel like I'm going to explode. So the whole shoving things into my head for memorization purposes isn't working too well. I've been torn between if I should get drugged up and go to sleep and try to get into a better health position for the end of the week or if I should stay up and study and not remember anything. So far, I've opted for sleeping. Alot.

I just woke up from like a three hour nap and I feel better. I think. I'm at least thinking much better. I have a glass of ice tea beside me and some charmin tissue paper and no benadryl or Sudafed in sight. And my head is clear enough to shove some stuff in before I pass out. And I have a six inch veggie sub in the fridge waiting for me when I get the munchies (oh and 4 cookies from Subway too... I planned ahead.) DId you know they have spinach and cucumbers and carrots at the Subway off of New Circle? "You" referring to no one since no vegetarians read this site and no one else would care. Next month is my 10 year mark. How stange is that?

I'm suppose to meet with someone in the morning to go workout but I think I'm goign to postpone that until Tuesday to give myself an extra day to recover. I'll need to call her later on tonight and give her a heads up.

Man.... I wish tests didn't come so fast.

And did I mention that I hate cold weather. Only four more winters like this and then I'm outta here! If anyone wants to follow me they can.

Tuesday, October 04, 2005

I am thankful that my husband is responsible and doesn't do stupid shit like other people's husbands do.

I am also thankful for pan pizza from Papa John's. It's good!

I'm thankful that I have a workout buddy so I'm going to force myself out of bed tomorrow morning.

It should be Thanksgiving. Maybe I'll start a list.

Sunday, October 02, 2005

Yesteday was busy. I got up early and studied and then I got showered and all smell goody and then headed to Louisville for the Scalf's bridal shower. It was fun times although I showed up early. I had it in my head that it was from 5 until 7:30, when it was really from 5:30 to 8. I was totally convinced that my invitation had a different time on it but when I got home I was wrong. I've done some strange things, but mistaking a 7 for an 8 is pretty bad.

The party was fun. The punch was spiked and I ended up getting the tiniest bit of liquid and then these huge gollups of sherbert. It was great because I love me some sherbert. It was sort of awkward but that would be expecteed since I didn't really know the other folks there. Eric's little sister was there and I totally didn't recognize her from highschool. I guess it's been like 5 years since I've seen her. wow.

And then I drove home and picked up our new cell phones. Finally! One's black and one's silver and I have no idea which on is the Louisville or Lexington number. Anyway, the old Louisville number is still the same, so all you folks can swamp me with phone calls. Actually, wait two weeks and then call me. I'm studying for tests.

I got really pissed off at work on Friday to pick up the pager for on call. And Zack was like "oh, yeah... we scheduled you for Sunday." Now that, my dear sirs and madams... is bullshit. I'm working every Friday and Saturday night and I refuse to take Sunday. I worked last Sunday as a favor to Criag (he had to leave for Louisanna for the reserves for a month) and it was no big deal. My studying needs sort of takes a back seat to destroyed cities. But, I was out of the house throughout the day for like 6 hours and it sucked. I didn't get anything done and I really needed to get things done. So, I told Joey and all them that I wasn't going to take Sunday anymore and that was that. So Friday I saw that I was on Sunday again. And the Friday night I requested off to Tim and Liz's wedding. And another Sunday in the middle of my block exams. I tried to talk it over with Zack and Joey and they kept on saying that they had things to do and I had to work it. So, after a few heated minutes, I basically said "listen, I will walk into Steve's office RIGHT now and put in my two weeks without a 2nd thought. I'm only doing on call to help you guys and if I feel the hint of pressure or stress about school, I will quit." Joey totally got the point by then and marked my name off of those days.

When people are going though hard times, I want to fastforward to like 10 years from now so they can look and see that everything will be alright. I also want people to miss me as much as I miss them.

School and stuff

I started back to school this week and I am very excited!!
I am taking accounting and human resource management. These are two of my favorite subjects. (I must mention, in case you don't know, I am an accountant by day)
I have to do a capital budgeting project for school and talked to my CFO (to whom I report) and she gave me some ideas on what I can use. The instructor said he wanted us to do a project on our business if at all possible so I am hoping this will get me some major brownie points on top of a good grade.
Everyone have a great night!!

And the final count is.....

99% Biochem
98% CAPP
95%OTC
94%Drug Design
85%Antibiotics
83% Physiology

Three of the test grades have extra credit points added to them. Who knew that having so many tests back to back like those could actually let you have some pretty decent grades.

I would like to thank all the little people... bob, tom, sarah, phil....

And a special thanks to bec for making me study hard and early and Jeremy for not leaving me (even after the death threats.)

TESTING...

Well, I asked how to post on Virginia's blog and she said she had to invite me. And she did :) Isn't my family great !!!

Take care everyone!!!

Sunday, September 25, 2005

I've been looking over the past few entries that I've written and they've been pretty depressing.... I need to sleep, my head hurts, whine, whine.... whine. So I made a little mental note to be more uplifting the next post.

How about the next one after the next post?

Being home alone sucks especially when there isn't anyone to talk to. I was going to call mom but by the time I realized how lonely I was, she was already in bed.

studying is amazingly unproductive when all you can think about is how lonely it is to be home alone. I hope jeremy gets home soon

whoa doggie... my head hurts. I think the only thing that would make it feel better would be going to sleep. But I'm holding out until after 11 in order to minimize my chances of getting a page. There's nothing worse then taking a shower and cuddling into bed with the animals only to have that damn pager go off and me have to drag myself out of bed.

I hate it when I can't stop thinking. Take this morning. I was planning on sleeping until 8 because I don't have class until 10 and I can't really leave the house until like 9:15 when I have class at 10 if I don't want to sit in traffic and waste my time for an hour. So, what happens?

6am rolls around and I'm bright eyed and bushy tailed. So, I get up and study. Because I'm that lame. No wonder I'm tired now.

It drives me crazy that I can't ever let things go. Well, I guess I can let some things go but not others. It's like I can't function if there isn't drama in my life. I have school and I have Jeremy. I don't work enough for it to matter and school's not very dramatic because it's school. And Jeremy isn't a good source of drama because he's so nice all the time. Although, I was able to pull at a few straws and tell him that I was very upset with him that he tried to kill me again last night with his cooking. But there was no yelling. I didn't even raise my voice. I didn't even really care... it was like I made some half hearted attempt to get some drama and then I just gave up. My life is boring. I can't even find stupid stuff to argue about with my husband. What is the world coming to?

I'm on call tomorrow and Sunday. Which means I'm stuck in the house because my cell phone is sort of out of commission and I need to be by the phone.

I don't like business calls. I really don't like them when I'm trying to study.

I really like my immediate family. I wish my extended family would just go away. They bug me.

I wish that spring break was here. Jeremy and I are going to be in Hawaii and we won't have a care in the world. It's going to be soo nice. I hope it's like our honeymoon. I heard from mom that bec and greg had a good time on their honeymoon.

Did I mentioned that my head hurts? hmmm... I'm going to bed.

Jeremy's boss is coming back from Iraq next month. Isn't that exciting?

Monday, September 19, 2005

Whew.... I can breathe again. Last week was real long. Saturday was even longer.

Can I just say how beautiful my sister was on Saturday? Every time I saw her I wanted to start crying. The wedding was AMAZING. Everything was so nice. It made me realize though that me and Becca are similar in so many ways but in other ways we are completely in different leagues. I did everything that I could and then more to make her happy on her day because I know she did so much for me and I wanted it to be so special.

I think it was good. There was some nice ass grabbing, some arm pit smelling, and boogers smeared on Jeremy that he didn't even know about in order to keep the smiles going but they came. I even broke out into a dance in front of like 100 strangers (because apparently that's how many people are in Greg's immediate family... um, not so much). I love my sister and I realized that you really can do anything if you do it for the people that you love... nothing else really matters.

Becky, I know you are in Florida playing with Mickey, but if you happen to get on the internet, know that I love you and you are a very special lady. And always remember (even though you've been told it a million times), that your husband is your best friend and will always be through the good and the bad. And don't ever leave each other when you are in a fight. Fight some more, cry some more, sleep some more, scream some more, but don't ever leave each other. You need to have your best friend beside you when you are at your worse so they can always be beside you when you're at your best.

Ok, enough of the sappy stuff. Congratulations to everyone else married this weekend. I'm off to finish my project for drug design and then I'm going to SLEEP. For a seriously extended period of time.

Too bad this starts all over again in two weeks. Jeremy was kind enough to remind me that in two weeks I won't be on my period, my sister won't be getting married, and the death threats directed at him will be kept at a minimum :) Did I mentioned that he came up with a song especially for me called "gotta study"? I'll have him sing it for you sometime.

Mom, I love you and it was good seeing you. Chris, are you still alive? The future Scalf's, are you ready for yours? Did anyone know that Bacterorides fragilis outnumbers E. coli 1000 to 1 in the colon? I sure as hell didn't on my antibiotics test.

i love my sister and congratulation!

I'm really tired and I would give anything to curl up into bed right now. But I have to deal with stupid on call stuff and getting a hold of doctors in the middle of the night. We've been learning about in CAPP that being a health care profession is about sacrificing yourself in order to better the lives of others. But I've been sacrificing myself since 7:30 this morning, put over 100 miles on my car, went to five different hospitals/homes today, only studied like 3 pages of notes when I should have studied like 90 and now I really want to stop the sacrificing and go to sleep.

I just got the phone with the pharmacist and she's beyond ticked off. Not my fault though. I'm not really ticked off. I'm just frustrated that we get called in for the stupidest stuff ALL the time.

My tests are coming up. I need to study for them.

People have been getting held up at gun point in the parking lots at UK. Hence, I'm not going to work out in the morning since the times that I go it is dark out. I'm too tired after all my classes at the end of the day, so I don't know what will happen with that.

This time next week, my sister will be married. Isn't that cute?

The computer in the living room has a virus and I can't really get on my vafcarrot225 screenname anymore because the virus is some how linked to that and I don't want to give anyone else the virus. Although, I think I have given it to other people already. Oh well. I'm either going back to the old vajcarrot or maybe vafcarrot if anyone cares. That's how you can reach me. Or you can always check Jeremy's at wildcat40508.

I am so sleepy.

The people need an update... I know.

This past week has been rough. But I feel better now. This is the first time that I haven't felt exhausted. The animals are fine, I got shoes for the wedding, no one has had an accident on the carpet since 6am, we have one HUGE squash from the garden, I'm ahead in school work, this morning was beautiful....

Yeah, last week was one of those weeks you just wish you could erase from existence. Hence, I'm not going to even write about it in here so there won't be a chance that I one day come back to look at this and have to remember it all over again.

Chris, I need your email address so I can write you long winded emotional emails in the middle of the night. I'm going through serious best friend withdrawl and I know how busy I am and you must be 10 times busier than me. So, I figured I would harass you electronically instead of calling you when you might me doing something. That way you can handle my emotional breakdowns at your leisure.

Virginia, you and Jeremy can borrow my satellite radio next time I see you as long as you help me remember to cancel the subscription in late November. They keep charging my card every 3 months and I'm not using it whatsoever, so you guys might as well get some use out of the pre-paid next few months.

Chris,
I need shannon's lab book for biochem... let me know how this can be orchestraed. Is that how you spell orchestraed? Is orchestraed a word?
I was one sick puppy today.

Last night Jeremy made me those oven baked cheesy potatoes but he made them all wrong and they weren't cooked all the way through. I got a page at 1:30 in the morning to go to Ridge and my stomach was in this huge knot. I thought it was just because I was waken up so suddenly. Anyways, the knot got worse and by 4 am, I got nausated. I had to sit up in bed to help the pain, but it's didn't do much good. Imagine a raw potatoe sitting in the middle of your chest and not going anywhere. Not going up or down. When I started having problems breathing because of the pressure, I tried to force myself to throw up but it wasn't working. By 6am, I woke Jeremy up to go to the 24 hour pharmacy to get help. They pharmacist said that inducing vomiting would have been really bad because my stomach was hurting because of zealous production of acid trying to get at those potatoes. She told jeremy to give me some acid reflux medicine and some gas x... that was the pressure and pain I was feeling. So, I took those. 30 mins, an hour, 2 hours, 3 hours passed.... nothing got better. And both the drugs that I took were only labeled to take twice a day. So I called dad and told him to tell everyone that I wasn't comign to Louisville. then, at 10:15, 15 minutes before I went off call, the pager went off. So, I had to go in. on the way in, I thought I was doing alot better. I only realized after I made 4 wrong turns on the way to a place 5 minutes away that I was really sick. By this point, my head hurt really bad because I had only gotten 2 hours of sleep all night.

Finally, about 4, the pressure moved down out of my chest and lower in my stomach. It still hurted, but I wasn't having problems breathing so I was able to go to sleep. Which brings you to this point, after a 3 hour nap. What a horrible day. I hate being sick in general, but not being able to sleep it off was the worse. I thought about sending Jeremy to get some sleep aid stuff just so I could be out of my misery but I figured I shouldn't had insult to injury on my already injured stomach situation.

Moral of the story; potatoe cheesy bakes are evil and simethacone and ranitidine don't work when you have entire potatoes stuck in your stomach.

School is going well. I eat, sleep, study, and work out every day. It is very exhausting. I don't see how people are suppose to gain weight during pharmacy school. There isn't very much time to shove food in your face.

Tuesday Jeremy and I went down to Frankford for our two yaer anniversary. It was very cute.

Other than that, I've been really focused on school. It's going to be alot of work. I actually need to go and read about eye and drug absorbtion before I go into work today. I'll try to get Jeremy to update more because he has more time than I do.

Tomorrow I'm goign to the ville if anyone wants to see me there.

Why is blackboard so freaking slow?

Why am I so tired? I've taken a nap every single day that I've had to go to school whenever I've gotten home. I don't have time for naps; I need to study.

I went and worked out this morning. I didn't so too much, but it was a start.

I came home today to find two new little kittens from the humane society that we are watching. There is one little black kitty that may be the prettiest cat I have ever seen. It has long black hair with little tiny bits of white on its feet. So pretty. Not very social, but pretty. There is another little grey one that actually purrs when you pick it up, so that's a plus. They aren't too hot on the dogs or zippy, but who is whenever you first meet them.

WEll, I'm goign to hit the books.

have a good one all.

Bridal showers ect

I've spent the day in Louisville with my sister doing the bridal shower thing. I got her this really cool shower head that I hope she likes (greg too of course). It was sort of strange being at the shower and not knowing anyone. ALso, I think one of the girls didn't like me from when we were younger. But that's ok because her hair was ugly.

I made cherry cobbler and it was good. I wasn't able to see my parent's new furniture, but I will see it when I come back up next Sunday.

I'm stressed out about the wedding because of those stupid block exams. I have to take 2 tests on the 16th, 2 on the 17th, and then 2 on the 19th. Bec's wedding is on the 17th. Her rehearsal dinner is on the 16th. In Louisville. Far away from Lexington I can't really move the tests earlier without getting screwed. But if I don't move any of the tests I will be letting becca down. I don't know what to do.

I hate it that smart people have such horrible jobs sometimes. Makes you wonder if they are really smart or not.

We had our pledge to professionalism on Friday at some snotty UK alum manision called Spindletop. Jeremy would have freaked out if he saw how the servers were. They were pretty bad. I had to ask like 5 times for a vegetarian meal. And the tea tasted like ass or something weird. I don't know. Maybe it was herbal. It was sort of surreal sitting there. there were 1000 people that applied to UK pharmacy school and I was one of the 130 that were picked. It made me feel alot better about the whole barb thing. I stopped by work to get the pager for Sunday and to talk to some folks there.

Yeah, remember Tuesday when i called out? They sure did throw me a going away/ good luck with school party, with cake and veggie pizza included. Let me tell you how sheepish I felt. After I told everyone why I didn't come in, they understood (they all dislike barb too). I'm glad now that I didn't quit. EVen though barb doesn't think so, Gericare does need me and I would be just screwing over people if I left them. and I don't want to screw those people over.

Becca wants me to get off the computer so she can do her homework. So goodnight all and sweet dreams.

Thursday, August 18, 2005

I can't believe I've been updating regularly.

I met my other two profs today and they seem quite nice. It just hit me today that I have nice classes. That seems so strange to me because I'm used to only having four at Transy.

I got my medical center id made today. That means I'm offical.

I walked a gazzillion miles today. Really I did. My legs hurt now. I sat down when i got home and immediately fell asleep. I was really tired.

I went by the Johnson center this afternoon and looked at the facility. Workouts start eaither tomorrow or next week. I have to get into a routine or I'll turn into a fat blob.

I guess I'm going to go an study. good night all.

Wednesday, August 17, 2005

Sorry that I was so dazed when you called mom. I was tired and sort of out of it.

We had to sit and listen to people talk on and on and on today. My legs went numb because I couldn't stretch them out. I met four of my six profs and so far I like them all. They all seem very personable. Oh, and we already have homework for all of them and classes don't offically start until monday. How lame is that?

I think I'm going to bed early tonight. I'm worn out.

Tuesday, August 16, 2005

Zippy is bein gsuper affectionate lately. I don't know what has gotten into him. We took the kittens back to the humane society today. They are getting fixed tomorrow. I hope that they find good homes. They are very good kitties. I think Zippy is missing them.

So, I called into work today. i told them that I was busy with school stuff. Which was sort of true. I spent a good portion of the day going over medical terminology. I'll get up early tomorrow and go over some conversion stuff. I don't when our test will be or how hard it will be.

I stabbed myself with a pair of those little scissors that come in finger nail car kits. It hurt really bad and bleed and now it's all swollen. I hope my finger doesn't fall off.

I still don't know what to do about the job. I guess we'll just see how it plays out. I don't work until I'm on call Sunday. Which I didn't want to be on call, but no one asked me. And I didn't realize that I was scheduled until Saturday and then I forgot to call on Monday and tell someone. Oh well... I'll go to Louisville early on Saturday and spend the day with Becca, maybe even spend the night.

Tomorrow is my first day of school. Jeremy is going to iron my clothes for me. I think I am going to take a change of clothes so I can go by the Johnson center and work out after class. We'll see. I don't know because I think we are getting all of our text books tomorrow, and if I have to lug 11 pharmacy text books to my car, that may be a work out in itself.

I miss the kitties. Jeremy is going to email the director over there to see if we can get another batch. I guess I shoudl go and play old school nitendo with jeremy. He is getting way too cocky for my liking.

Monday, August 15, 2005

I just spent a ton of money on getting dress clothes for school. Ahem, I mean "professional attire." I had a $100 gift certificate from Christmas for Old Navy and then between Jeremy and me we spent another $120 there. After that I went over to Kohl's. The pickings there were slim. But after it was all said and done, I have six new dress shirts and three new pairs of slacks. That should last me for awhile/ At least I won't have to wear the same outfit everyday. I almost bolted when we got in line to check out at Old Navy. I never spend money like that on myself.

Tomorrow we are going to get shoes. we looked at some today but I was wearing jeans and couldn't really judge if they would look nice or not. Jeremy did get another pair of work shoes which he really needed.

CPR was a piece of cake. There were two classes and I was in the last class. WE ended up starting 30 minutes after the first class because everyone needed to finish checking in. American Heast assoication is the same as the american red cross but with more AED stuff. but that may because the class was geared to Health Care Providers. we got done with the class by 1 but I ended up having to wait for other people to get done with their tests because I was double doubled parked by two people. I went over to the kroger that was near there to get a salad but they didn't have a bar. lame.

So, I almost quit my job on Friday. I had my one year review and Barb about ripped me a new one. She said I asked too many questions, that I got distracted by people and that's why I made so many mistakes, that I was defensive when I did make mistakes and that I blamed other people when things were wrong. But when I asked for specific examples, she couldn't give them to me. She didn't give me one "but thank you for the job you are doing." she just said that I had more potenial and I needed to think more at work. All I can say, and sorry for the language, is fuck her.

I started crying of course. And i didn't stop crying until around 2 the next day when i had to go back into work saturday. And i had to leave the pharmacy and go to the bathroom a few times while I was there because I started crying again. I don't think Lynne and Kathy knew what to do and neither did the drivers that day. I didn't talk to them about it because it was really busy and if I started crying I wouldn't be able to stop. It was really bad. my eyes were swollen and I had these huge circles.

Here's my issues:
If I have a question and it will take someone 5 secs to answer because they already know what's going on with the situation, I'm going to ask them instead of wasting 10 mintues of my time looking up the question on the computer, pulling the packing lists, calling the facility, and checking the on order box. I know the pharmacist's time is valuable, but surely me asking if a warfarin is going out next week instead of today does not define me as lazy and stupid.

I don't make that many mistakes. I just don't. And the ones that I do make would be less if I didn't have to fill EVERY SINGLE DRUG that goes out that day. Why is it that we have 7 techs and yet I fill every single thing that goes out? Figure that one out for me. And why is it that I get blamed for not getting things out on time? First of all, it's not my job to make sure deliveries get out on time. It's Craig's job. It's actually in his job discription. And when he has a death in the family and four other techs (not that they would have helped me anyway) leave early, have the day off and/or aren't scheduled, I'm a little stressed. For example, LCP was suppose to leave at 4. I had everything ready to go and was getting the driver to take it out the door. Then Barb says oh wait, let me print out some labels. Some labels end up being 20 or so. Of course, I have to run a fill this and LCP gets out the door 15 minutes late. Barb brings this up in my evalutation and tells me that I should have not filled those orders because they were mediset. First, if she didn't want me to fill those, she shouldn't have told me to wait. 2nd, the last time I tried to leave the mediset stuff for the next day, she told me not to because the corner store needed the stuff in the morning and shouldn't have to wait around for it.

I'm not defensive when I make mistakes. Really, I'm not. I apologize and immediately go and fix it. When I asked barb what I did to give that impression she was like oh, I don't know. you just are.

And finally, if a pharmacist asks me who filled a certain thing, I'm going to tell them. IF they ask me to go fix something, I will. I'm not going to say I filled an order wrong if I didn't. I'm just not. Sorry, not my thing.

I've never felt so unappreicated in my entire life. I think I was in shock. It doesn't matter that I do 10 times that amount of work that they other techs do when I'm at work. It doesn't matter that I am the ONLY person trained at every single tech position. It doesn't matter that I sacrifice my days, nghts and weekends for that damn place and no one can even bother saying thank you for the work I've done in my one year evaluation. It actually made me sick to my stomach. I can't believe that Barb has these blinders on where she only sees the bad when she looks up from her computer screen and never sees the good.

So, why am I staying? Well, when I was leaving Saturday, the last thing that lynne and Kathy said to me was thank you. They said thank you for me being there. Tomorrow is my last day working at the pharmacy with barb. then I am only working saturday and on call a few nights a week.

I also got a 45 cent raise. the money isn't the issue though. On a scale of 1 to 5, 5 being the highest, barb gave me 3's and 2's. I didn't deserve that. I got one 5 in attendence and a 4 in safety. I'm calling in tomorrow. Might as well, I don't want me average to be pulled up too much. I don't know. I still might quit.

Something to think about...

Men defined.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A man wanted to get married. He was having trouble choosing among
three likely candidates. He gives each woman a present of $5,000 and
watches to see what they do with the money.

The first does a total make over. She goes to a fancy beauty salon
gets her hair done, new make up and buys several new outfits and
dresses up very nicely for the man. She tells him that she has done
this to be more attractive for him because she loves him so much.

The man was impressed.

The second goes shopping to buy the man gifts. She gets him a new
set of golf! clubs, some new gizmos for his computer, and some
expensive clothes As she presents these gifts, she tells him that
she has spent all the money on him because she loves him so much.

Again, the man is impressed.

The third invests the money in the stock market. She earns several
times the $5,000. She gives him back his $5000 and reinvests the
remainder in a joint account. She tells him that she wants to save
for their future because she loves him so much.

Obviously, the man was impressed.

The man thought for a long time about what each woman had done with
the money he'd given her.

Then, he married the one with the biggest boobs.

Men are like that, you know.

There is more money being spent on breast implants and Viagra today
than on Alzheimer's research. This means that by 2040, there should
be a large elderly population with perky boobs and huge erections
and absolutely no recollection of what to do with them

A post by Chris

Hey guys :) This is the first day I've been able to get on the internet on my computer. I forgot my wireless adapter at home and just got back from going to Lex to get it. We're mooching off (ie, stealing) an unencrypted wireless signal that's floating around our building until we get our own set up. The Insight guy was supposed to have called by now, but he hasn't. I've had my PDA that all the med students get for a while now, and it has wireless access, but typing a post on a small screen by tapping letters with a stylus would have been less than efficient.

Anyway, I'm doing well. My roommate is a really nice guy and we've got along well (he's a fellow 1st year). Lissa was here this weekend so that was nice. She was here last weekend too.

Our place is just about set up. We drove to this Japanese guys house yesterday to respond to an ad he had posted to sell a couch. It's a pretty decent couch for the $60 I paid for it. I just wish it had been a little smaller. We spent a good 40 minutes hauling the thing up to the third floor where my apartment is, trying to dodge wooden beams, walls, corners, etc in 105 degree heat, only to find out it won't clear the kitchen door and make the turn into the apartment and that it needs to be taken allthe way back down and around the front way. An hour later, couch safely inside and miraculously without any damage, we decided we're taking an axe to it when we move out rather than go through that mess again.

Our shower pressure is bitchin'! It almost hurts if you stand under it the wrong way, which is awesome. I was afraid they'd have some stupid low flow head. (sorry for the b word, Mrs. J, there's just no other way to adequately describe it)

I think I'm just about done pre-reading/studying for tomorrow's Gross Anatomy class. I'm going to look over Embryology and Histo before I go to bed, but Gross is the one you really have to stay prepared for. Tomorrow (the first day of classes) we'll get our cadavers and make the first cuts. I know it sounds awful, but I'm secretly hoping I don't end up with a morbidly obese subject. There's a lot more work involved.

Virginia and Jeremy, you have to come see my place when it's all set up (and don't forget, you promised me a box of tissues, Virginia :) )

Howl at the Moon, the piano bar on 4th street is one of my new favorite places. Maybe I'll go every other Thursday or something like that for a nice little break. They have dollar drinks on Thursday. I'm on a budget :)

That's all for now. I'm gonna flip through some more stuff. Land O' Lakes American cheese from Kroger deli is delicious.

Chris,
we miss you and hope you are doing good. :(

Tuesday, August 09, 2005

Zippy had his follow up appointment today and although his ears were a little dirty, he was good to go. He has his good ole meow back too.

I went down to the KY clinic to get my vaccinations today. I was a little bothered that the nurse who did them didn't wear gloves, nor did she alchol the area she was giving the shots at. So, of course, I was none to happy when she said "OH NO" after giving me my hep b shot and I look over to she my arm squiting blood. I would have thought she hit an artery but I know there aren't any arteries in that part of my arm. So, because of the above mentioned thing about her not wearing gloves, she threw a wad of cotton swaps at me to stop the bleeding. And then hands me a latex bandaid. of course, I had already told her that I was allergic to latex. Apparently she didn't care because my allergies don't cause problems breathing, just a rash, pain and itching. I actually had to ask for some alcohol swaps on the way out to clean off the dried blood that was all over my arm. By the time I got out to that parking garage, my arm had a bandaid sharped rash on it. Go figure.

Jeremy and I went to the farmer's market and got a punch of goodies and then we came home and he made us tomato sandwiches.

School starts soon. ick.

Sunday, August 07, 2005

we got our first two tomatoes off the vine. they are still a little orange but we are very excited. Jeremy says he counted 23 more on the plant. :)

Siamese kittens sure are snobs.

Kathy Griffin is really funny.

Wednesday, August 03, 2005

Zippy had blood on his fur yesterday afternoon. So we took him to the vet and $500 later, they can't find anything wrong with him. He no longer has blood in his feces and besides a little gas, he has a clean bill of health. Needless to say, after losing two kittens already, I was a little freaked out. But he's eating and drinking and being his same ole Zippy self, although somewhat more indignant. I think that's because he had to spend the afternoon at the vet again today for observation.

We are having another poker game tomorrow night at our house for the people at Jeremy's work. Should be fun. Hopefully.

Did I mention that we have two cantaloupes in our garden? I'm very excited. the biggest one looks liek a little green football.

Tomorrow I;m getting my hep b vaccination. I finally got my records after harassing pediatric associates for the past month. Way to never return a chick's phone calls.

I can't believe that school is just around the corner. I'm pretty freaked out and I have the sores in my mouth to prove it. The doctor gave me medicine for them, but it's ulcer medicine for your stomach and it's REALLY nasty to gargle ulcer medicine. She gave me two refills on it too for finals too when they come up. It's sad that I have to play ahead for stress. Oh well.

Laters everyone and have a wonderful night.

Sunday, July 31, 2005

I am the Zuma master:)
The fields are the poker champions. Jeremy came in first and I came in 2nd. Thank you very much :)

Saturday, July 30, 2005

Tomorrow is goign to be fun. I'm excited.

We are watching two Siamese kittens. They are pretty cute although not as cuddle as I would have liked. I hope that they find good homes. We are only keeping them for about two weeks.

I've had to go into the pharmacy three times today. Blah. THank goodness I'm not on call tomorrow.

I hope everything goes ok tomorrow. There's about 15 people coming. It should be fun. I hope that everyone brings something to eat and drink.

Jeremy should be home pretty soon. I wish that he didn't work nights.
