You wanna know how obscene Maybe is?

Perhaps scratched at the door so I let her out, but I was going to keep Maybe in because it was wet and muddy and out. So, after I shut the door, Maybe looked at me with those big ole puppy eyes, and I told her no, she wasn't going out.

Then she farts! Like one of those 5 secs farts that sound like you're letting the air out of a balloon. How could I not let her out?!!??! She would have taken a dump on the floor!

Nasty

It's nasty out. Rainy and cold and my pants are still wet from walking to my car. And I can barely feel hte fingers on my right hand for some reason.

I had a biochem test this morning. I think I did ok, but I thought that the last test and ended up getting a not so stellar grade. I'll guess we'll just have to wait and see. I have another test tomorrow in econ. I'll start reading some for that in a bit.

Jeremy made vegetable terpura last night and it was really good. Especially the cabbage... Jeremy was surprised. I knew it would be good though :)

I wish it were summer.

I hope that Biochem in pharmacy school will be over the same material so that I don't have to learn anything new. watch it not be.

Maybe I'll just take a nap before work. I get paid on Friday! Jeremy gets paid today. Too bad we have a mortgage and a car payment and all that other 'living" expenses stuff. hmf.

I just about lost an eye taking a bite of a pickle. Juice went everywhere!

I went and worked out today from 11:30 to about 1:10. I spent like the last 30 minutes or so talking to Lissa and working out with her. Fun times. My new goal is to lose the five pounds I gained over Spring break. Thus, I am eating a low fat lunch of pickles and organic soup *wink*

Jeremy paid to take the admissions test for graduate school last night. He said he was going to study an hour a day until his test in May. If he does, more power to him. I will be very impressed.

I have a biochem test on Wednesday and a micro econ test on Thursday. Hopefully, I can make it through this week and still work out every day.

My hair has become very hazardous. Jeremy, the animals, myself... we all keep on pulling it on accident and it's driving me crazy.

Is it sad that jeremy and I were talking over IM today when we were in the same house?

At least the things that we said to each other were really cute.

YAY!

Just wanted to let everyone know that I got the job at Humana!!!

Thursday, March 17, 2005

I don't really feel like recaping the entire trip, and Chris said he would write a post about it, so I won't.

After we got home and relaxed for a little bit, we got back in the car and headed to Ashland to pick up the puppies. I missed them so very much.

Even though I may not be the person that some people strive to be, there are reasons that I am the way I am. If you would care to hear about them, I'll be more than happy to talk to you. But don't be surprised when I'm defensive because you have already judged me before I even opened my mouth. Likewise, I won't be surprised when you get defensive right back at me.

I go through phases were I evaluate myself and make changes as I see fit. I make the changes that I see fit, not what other people see fit. Other people may help to influence my decisions about my life, but they do not make them, nor will they ever will.

Gatlinburg is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We went walking around earlier today and now we are waiting in line to get gold vlubs for minature golf. Tonight we are going to the Casino.

Jeremy and Chris both got some hot sauce today. Tomorrow we are going hiking. Got to go, yo!

Time for a nice long update....

Well, the final destination is Gatlinburg. We were able to get our 100 dollar refund from Myrtle Beach and we are going to wait on Asheville until May term break when we can go and hike in nice weather. And we realized that we could use the rest of our Discovery Points that we got in Hawaii to go for free to Gatlinburg. Thankfully, we were able to get a room down there. There was some question about whether we would or not. Chris has to sleep on the fold out couch, but he'll live.

Hopefully, the trip will be cheap all around. The place has a full kitchen, so I'm planning on bringing food down. Here's the list of stuff that we have in the house that I'm thinking about taking. If you have anyother suggestions, please comment.

-spagetti and pasta sauce
-wheat bread
-a block of sharp cheese and the rest of the colby that we have
-some saltine crackers (wheat and unsalted)
-apples
-oatmeal
-some bottles of wine
-an two liter of cherry lemonlime :)
-some organic soup
-ramen noodles

Umm, that's all I got. I'm sure I could find more when I raid the kitchen later.
I think the plan is to eat at one of the breakfast places (it's like some big tradition that you have to eat pancakes at least one while down in Gatlinburg) and then maybe lunch or dinner some other time.

We are leaving Sunday night and/or afternoon. Monday, depending on the weather, we will be hiking some or driving over this really scenic route to check out a casino. Hopefully, it won't be too cold to hike. Jeremy really wants to do this 9 miles trail. And I want to too. Chris, you should come as well. At night, we will most likely walk around the Gatlinburg area and see what there is to see. It should be nice. After heading over to his parent's house to pick up the doggies, I'll try to go in and get a few hours of work in.

My paychecks from work have been quite sad. I wish we were rich. And in not some much debt.

So, it's spring break. Why is there snow on the ground? And why do I have three tests the week that we get back. sigh. I should go study. First I should shower though.

laters all!

Weather Updates and such

Since when did this site become Weather dot com? :)

Myrtle Beach on Monday through Wednesday: Upgraded to Mostly Cloudy and an average of around 55 degrees; 20% chance of precip Decent casino, probably unswimmable ocean and so far, potentially obscured sunrise/sunset; also, Virginia-irritating golf courses

Asheville, NC: Upgraded to Mostly Cloudy on Monday and Tuesday with an average of 53 degrees; 20% chance of precip Casino sucks, potential to hike although preceding rain will make slippery and muddy, also cold with moisture in air up in mountains

Lexington, KY: Monday through Wednesday, partly cloudy with an average of 45 degrees; 20% chance of precip Colder, cheaper (unless $99 is non-refundable), Louisville (really Indiana) casino is decent, no long car ride, boring, no tan, greater studying potential

Honolulu, HI: Monday and Tuesday, partly cloudy 80 degrees 5% chance of precipitation. The place we'll be dreaming about wherever we wind up.
Forecast for fun in the sun over Spring Break... very bleak. We may have to wait until Hawaii for some sand between our toes :(
Weather for Asheville, NC: Pretty much like it's going to be here. Rain ALL week. A bit warmer there perhaps.

Tuesday, March 08, 2005

Weather for Myrtle Beach on Saturday and Sunday: 67 and 73 with lots of sun.
Weather on Monday and Tuesday (the days we're going): Mid 60's, 40% chance of rain all week.

Here's hoping for a couple of days delay in those clouds...
That pretty much means keeping it here a little longer, but I'm willing to sacrifice.

I did a mile in 9 mins and 35 secs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interviews

I have been trying to find a new job for a couple of months. I finally have two interviews scheduled! One for Wednesday at Mercer Human Resources and one on Thursday at Humana. I know people that work both places and they are two of the best places in Louisville to work. I will have a lot more room to advance than at the law firm I work at now. Wish me luck.

Post by Chris

Heya. I had some extra time, so I thought I'd post a snippet or two.

You know, that may be the first time I've ever used the word snippet. Hmm...who knew?

Virginia and I got to do a concert this past week with Robert W. Smith, who's a pretty famous composer of school band music. It actually wasn't all that exciting. Just because you're a good composer doesn't mean you're a good conductor, and this was evidenced a bit by his visit. Plus, the stuff we played by him was ok, but borrowed from a lot of the stuff he's done before. Frankly, I think his writing is a little formulaic. Oh well, I hope it was a good experience for the 8th graders. The Ellington concert on April 1st should be a lot better.

I'm writing a piece for our jazz band, although I'm not sure if we'll get to play it. Hopefully we can get a couple of reads on it though and get it recorded. That would be sweet.

My girlfriend Lissa is home visiting her dad in the hospital. He's been having a really rough time of it the past few months. For the longest time, the doctors were thinking it was problems with his pancreas and were doing all kinds of stuff for it that weren't working. Now, unfortunately, they're pretty sure it's his liver, and even more unfortunately, there's probably cancer. His appearance and spirits have changed drastically so it's been a pretty rough experience for everyone involved. I've mainly just tried to make sure I'm there for Lissa as she tries to be there for him and deal with her own emotions, school, the rest of her family, me, etc. Please say a prayer if it's in your custom to do so, or just keep them in your thoughts. Hopefully, all will turn out alright.

On a lighter note, College Basketball is wrapping up, and I couldn't be more excited! Congratulations to Virginia's Dad on his team winning their conference today, although DePaul certainly gave them all they wanted the entire game. Maybe Jeremy and I (and I'm not sure who else among the readers of this blog) will get lucky and Louisville will get put in the same bracket and on the same path as Kentucky this year. What an awesome Final Four run that would be to get to beat Pitino (again...) along the way :p
(I hope I'm not eating my words tomorrow when UK plays Florida in Gainesville... If I do, I suppose I will deserve whatever tongue lashing you Cards fans will undoubtedly unleash on me :) ) Go Cats!

My Mom's at Red Lobster right now. She's going to bring me home some Cheddar Bay biscuits. I'm oh so excited!

Weather projection for Myrtle Beach on March 14th: Mostly Sunny 64 degrees, Water Surface Temperature: 66
Countdown of days: 8
Virginia's Boss is a jerk for making us get up at like 5 on Wednesday to come home, but hey, it will be worth it.

If you get HBO, you should watch Carnivale. Find an episode guide online or something and then check it out, it's so worth it. (you can rent the 1st season at Blockbuster too I think) Very unique, highly entertaining.

Medieval Europe still sucks. Thanks again, Jeremy.

My brother signed up for the Army on Thursday. He's going to be a combat medic. The intensive training for that job is only like 12 weeks, so I don't think he'll be stitching people up or anything. Still, it's both ironic and humorous that he's going to end up practicing medicine before I do :) Chances are probably good he'll get sent to Iraq, so that sucks, but hey, I guess you've gotta let them fly and do their own thing at some point. It should be a good character-building experience for him and I'm proud of him for wanting to serve his country.

Final note for those who want to know (or don't want to know, but are compulsively reading these words anyway to see what's to come, thereby learning the thing before knowing if they would have wanted to have known it before knowing it...wait...I'm confused) Anyway: Perhaps' head smells like pee. Virginia is pretty sure this is due to her checking Maybe out as she does her business in the yard. I think her stitches from being spayed have either come out or have disolved though, so she should be bath-ready any day now.

Okay, I'm done.

lame. I open this up for people to write in and who writes in it? No one!

lame.

Thank goodness I have a puupy who will lick the inside of my nose for me and then try to french kiss me.

I ran a mile in 9 minutes and 46 secs. Thank you very much. I will be signing autographs later. Have to run to work!
