So I got my new car today. Yeaaaaa! That's very exciting to say the least. I will post some pictures whenever I take them. I'm definitely loving the car. I ended up getting exactly what I was trying to get all along, which was a 2007 Honda Fit Sport 5 speed manual in vivid pearl blue. It was quite an ordeal to get this point though. I had a lot of issues with a car dealer before I found this car at another car dealership. Basically, here's how it went down. On Saturday, March 31, Virginia and I went out to eat in Frankfort at Thai Smile. While we were there I suggested we goto Jeff Wyler Honda of Frankfort and see if they have any Fits in stock. I guess I should preface by saying Fits are in very high demand, they sell very quickly, and it's tough to find what you're specifically looking for. So the dealer had a black automatic Fit with aftermarket wheels, which clearly didn't meet the criteria. But since we were there I figured I may as well test drive it to get a feel for how the car handles. After the test drive I decided this definitely was the car I wanted, and the sales guy said he could probably work something out for us. After he claimed to check his data base in a six state radius and didn't find any Fits that met my criteria, he told me one was scheduled to be manufactured in Japan and delivered between the 4th week of April and 2nd week of May. I thought hmmm.... that doesn't sound to bad. So we agreed this was the route we would go and the sales person said they required a $500 deposit to be put down for us to have first dibs on the car when it was delivered. We both specifically asked if the deposit was refundable if we decided not to buy this car, and he told us point blank that the money was refundable. So we agreed on the price, which included a $900 "lack of availability fee", and our acknowledgement of the price was documented on a generic invoice. There was nothing on the invoice about the deposit being non-refundable. Actually there was nothing on the invoice period that was pertinent to a deposit. A couple days pass and I'm searching the Internet for information about Fits and discover that there are not one but two Fits in Louisville that are what I'm looking for. After calling the dealership I found out that the Fits had been there before our sales guy had checked his data base in a 6 state radius. Somehow he managed to miss these. I called up the sales guy as an FYI hoping they could trade their black Fit for one of the blue ones, but alas he had already sold it. At this point I'm irritated and start to waver on buying a car from this guy, and he immediately informs me the deposit is non-refundable and I have no choice but to buy this car. After coming to a standstill, he says he'll talk to his GM and get back with me the next day. After he doesn't call me all day, I finally call him to see what's up. Basically he says they can work with me on the deposit and refund it if necessary. But they maintain the entire time that the deposit was meant to be non-refundable. I'm very leery of these guys, but I still planned on buying a car from them. I also implored the sales guy to call the dealership in Louisville and at least lay the groundwork for a dealer trade whenever the Frankfort dealership got any Fit in. The following Monday I get a call from my sales guy, and he tells me they should be receiving some Fits the next day and they can make the trade with the Louisville dealership. Tuesday goes by and no phone call. I left a voicemail that afternoon with my sales guy since he was out for the day. I didn't get a call back until Friday evening informing me the Fits didn't arrive. As you can see, my sales person isn't the quickest guy to follow up and return phne calls. This past Monday I get a call from my sales guy again and he informs me there's good news and bad news. The good news was they got 3 Fits in, and he encouraged me to buy one of them instead of the type I wanted. I said no thanks. He then informed that the Louisville dealership had sold both blue cars. Coincidentally I had passed through Louisville the previous day while en route from South Bend, and I stopped and looked at both cars. They clearly weren't sold. I told my sales guy this and he acted all flabbergasted and told me they would call them right back to see if they could trade. I called back in 15 minutes and was told they didn't know if they could trade because the person in Louisville they needed to talk to was out for the day. I was assured they would call him first thing next morning. So the next morning around 10 am after receiving no word, I call the dealership, and at first I'm told my sales guy is out, but then the receptionist tells me he's with a guest and I should leave a voicemail. At 2 pm he hadn't returned my phone call, so I called the dealership again, and he had already left for the day. Apparently no one else at the dealership knew anything about what was supposed to be going on with the Louisville dealership. At this point I'm very suspicious and I call the Louisville dealership myself and ask for the person in charge of dealer trades. I ask him straight up if Jeff Wyler Honda had contacted him about trading for one of the blue Fits. He informs me that he has received no contact in the past few days. I am ticked at this point because it's obvious these guys are jerking me around. So the next morning I go over to the dealership to settle this matter. I ask my sales guy what Neil Huffman said yesterday when they called them. Without blinking, he told me that he was told by Neil Huffman that both of the cars had been sold, and I decide to call his bluff. I asked him who they talked to at Neil Huffman, and the name Adam comes up, which is the guy I had talked to the previous day. I decide I'm to call Adam right now and see what happens. They probably thought I was full of crap until I called the place and asked for the guy using his first and last name. When I used his last name, the sales guy's eyes got real big as he knew I had caught him in a big lie. Unfortunately, Adam hadn't arrived yet for the day, but I made my point. I tell the guy I will never buy a car from him and I want my deposit back. At this point I think he was flustered and decided I wasn't worth the trouble. He agreed to refund my deposit without any semblance of a fight, which relieved me immensely.
So later that day I'm checking another dealership in Louisville and find a blue Fit sport, and it also turned out to be a manual. After some discussion, I am quoted a price for this car that is $800 less than what I was quoted in Frankfort. On top of that, this car has some dealer add ons such as the protection package, which adds $1500 to the sales price. They actually agreed to credit the price of the protection package out of the price quote. Needless to say, this is the car we went for, and now we are proud owners of a Honda Fit.

I'm very lonely. Jeremy left earlier today to go up to South Bend to visit with Tim. And I am stuck at home to study and write this stupid paper that I was hoping to be five pages into but really I'm just a paragraph.
I don't like kinetics. I have to get an A on the final if I want to get an A in the class.
I'm so bummed I don't even want to go work out. I didn't work out yesterday because I was busy all day and when I got home I went straight to bed. maybe I will do a video later on.
lame
Jeremy won't get back into town until Sunday. it's not fair. I want him stuck at home and miserable with me.

I'm glad that you got back from Hawaii safe.
We got back from Galinburg safe.
Man, it was a very emotional weekend. I spent all day working Friday trying to get stuff taken care of so we could go to Tenn. I got almost everything done, and I was able to do some work in the car and then when we got down there.
We got up around 7 ish on saturday and were on the road by 8:30. It rained the entire way down, which sucked. I was all sad because I had been hoping all week long that my foot would be ok enough to go on a hike with and I have been really careful with it. And then it was raining. I brought our hiking boots just in case.
We get into Pigeon Forge at 11:30 and right when we got there it stopped raining. So we decided to head over to Gatlinburg to see if any trails were open. We decided to do this really tough trail called Chimney Top, and go as far as my ankle would let us. We got to the trailhead and started out. It was a 2 mile hike with a gain of 1700 feet. We did the first mile in 15 minutes. The 2nd... 45 minutes. My ankle was fine, but man, that last mile might as well have been completely vertical. It was horrible. I kept ahead of Jeremy but there were several times we had to stop and catch our breath and try to get our heart rates down. It was like a level 12 on the elliptical. hard stuff. Anyways, we get to the top and there's this 50 foot CLIFF that you have to climb to get to the very top. There was this family there and the dad convinced us that we could get up there fine. Not so much... I got up about 30 feet and was shaking really bad because my legs were so tired. but it was one of those things that I would rather go up then try to go back down. So, I was dragging myself up this cliff (with the backpack because so how Jeremy handed it to me and I kept it on) and when we got to the top it was awesome. My wedding ring got tore up and scratched where I was gripping onto rocks though. It was scary at the top though because it was so cold and windy. the way down wasn't as hard, but it was still slow going. We made it to the bottom of the mountain in about 35 minutes.
When we were about 50 feet from the car, Jeremy was reaching into his jacket pocket to get the keys when he realized that he didn't have them. Apparently, he had only zipped one side of the his pocket and not the other side. He immediately starts to freak out and we walk to the car hoping that they fell out in the parking area and not on the trail. There was a note on the car from someone named Andrew saying that he found our keys on the trail and he put them on the back rear tire. Jeremy almost said he fell down because he's knees almost buckled. We had the laptop and ipod in the car, and someone could have very likely stolen the car and left us there. We had another set of keys locked in the car just in case something like this happened, but we would have been out a 300 dollar set of keys and would have had to wait for AAA. Anyways, thank you Andrew, whoever you may be. You helped restore our faith in humanity.
Then, on the way out of the park, we saw a mama bear and her two cubs. that was awesome.
I meet Effy and I got to interview Jeremy's dad for my SOAP note assignment.
I had some serious anxiety issues on the way home.
But, I got home, took a shower, Jeremy made cucumber salad for dinner, did some homework, did a pilates video, did some more homework and now I feel much better.

have you ever noticed that Jeremy always starts a post with "this (insert time period) has been fairly eventful"?
Quick update.
I got my hair cut. 9 inches off at the shortest layer
My foot still hurts. it is bruised all the way to the toes. I am going to a sports medicine doctor tomorrow for them to tell me to stop being a baby.
i have a CRAP load of stuff to do and very little time. Who needs to study for blocks when you have FOUR group projects (all with different groups mind you) due next week. Presentation and a paper to do.
And apparently, gatinburg this weekend. sigh. I will get it done, I always do.
Not worried about anything grade wise except kinetics. I will have to study my toosh off for the final, which is cumulative.
Lab practical tomorrow whihc I shouldn't have to study that much for. Meeting at noon. maybe I'll win something.
huge list of things to do.
I'm sleepy.
I need to workout sometime. I found out I can do cardio on the weight machines if I use the lowest weight and I don't use the ones that involve my feet.
Anybody want to give us $20,000?
it's hot in the house.
Our radishes may not make it.
I need to call CVS. why am I such a loser?

This past week has been fairly eventful. On Sunday afternoon we went on a picnic at Jacobson park with our friends Chriss and Lissa. The temperature was nice, but it was very windy and made eating slightly difficult. After eating we took the dogs to the dog park and disaster struck. While skipping across the park, Virginia hit a rut and badly sprained her right ankle. At the time we didn't think it was too bad, and she sat on a chair for the remainder of our time at the dog park. The ankle was very tender and she couldn't put any weight on it, but we figured it would be okay in a few hours. Well, a few hours later, it was much worse, and the pain was starting to get to Virginia. So we decided it would be best to go to the ER to have some x-rays done just to be sure she didn't break any bones or tear any ligaments. Several hours later, it was determined she didn't break any bones, but she was referred to an orthopedist and was given an aircast and crutches since she still couldn't put any weight on her ankle. The next few days were tough for her to get around school. Her ankle continually ached during the week, but by Thursday she was able to limp around and drive again. By Friday she was feeling well enough to decide it would be okay to cancel the doctor appointment. The swelling had gone down, and she was just bruised. So the worst of the ordeal is over although her ankle still hurts some. I don't think Virginia will be skipping in the park again anytime soon.

Last night was a fairly eventful evening. Virginia finished her exams and we went to Frankfort to enjoy Thai Smile. We actually learned there is a new Thai Smile in Richmond, which is only about 15 minutes away verses 35 minutes to Frankfort. Needless to say, we'll be checking out that Thai Smile sooner rather than later. Before dinner we stopped by the Honda dealership to look at a Honda Fit. They only had a black automatic in stock, but I still want to look at one up close to see what the interior looked like and view other aspects up close. The Fit is one of the models I was strongly considering, but wasn't entirely sure yet. We ended up test driving Fit that they had, and I really liked how it drove. The drive also confirmed I definitely wanted to get a manual 5 speed. After the drive we chatted with sales person and decided to put down a deposit to reserve the next Fit that came that was what I was looking for. We're going to get a blue Fit with the sports package and the five speed manual. One is set to be manufactured April 8 and should arrive at the dealer between late April and mid-May. Here is a picture of what my new car will look like more or less.
