Sorry, I haven't been able to update. Monday we went out to dinner with Jeremy's mom and then yesterday I went out with my friend Sandra that used to work at Gericare and the 2 hour dinner and presentation that we went to turned into 4 hours cuz we sat around and talked.

Monday in Hawaii was the best day I think. We went hiking all day. First, we hiked up to Diamond Head Point. There were all those tourists that went up there that was every shape and size and age, and we were totally limited by the 80 year old woman and 300 pound man who were walking in front of us. But we got to the top and the few was awesome. I'll post pictures. the most eventful that happened was some guy got down on his knee that was standing beside me. I thought he was crazy cuz the ground was all dirty. Then I realized that he was proposing to his girlfriend. It was really sweet, although very awkward for me because I think I was actually closer in position to the guy than his girlfriend was. There were a ton of people up there and every one clapped.

In other news, a little bird told me that my sister-in-law got engaged last night.

Then we headed off to the university of Hawaii arborietium (sorry, I know that's not spelled right) and hiked up to a waterfall. Then we went to another trial and hiked up to an even bigger waterfall. I chickened out on our last hike because we didn't know where the trail went and I swear, it looked like one of those scary movies where dead people were hiding in the trees and the branches were going to come out of the ground and wrap around your ankles. So, we did three hikes instead of four and got nice and muddy and it was great. Before the last hike, we had to stop and pay for parking... go figure, pay for parking in the middle of nowhere... but the guy we paid was really nice and he gave me bug spray. He said if it was his daughter out there, he would want someone to do the same thing for her. He was very sweet. Even so, i got the crap bitten out of me. I harmed several Hawaiian beasties that day. I hope that bug population does not go extinct.

Later, we drove back, showered and headed out to dinner at Chili's right next door to the hotel because we had a coupon for a blooming onion. I got a virgin strawberry diagari (I know, not spelled right) and it was good. I also got a veggie burger and got to take most of it home cuz I couldn't finish it. After that, we went walking around town and we got another mask to hang on our wall of masks in the TV bedroom. We've gotten something everywhere that we've gone on vacation, and then collection is quite large. I have to run to school now though. I'll post pictures later!

Why Hawaii isn't too hot

Ok, here's the skinny.

We left last Saturday. I forgot my contact lens case, which was a big mistake because non of the hundreds of shops in Alanta and Los Angeles airports sale contact len cases. So, I couldn't nap the entire airplane ride cuz when I sleep in my contacts, they act like glue when I wake up.

Then on the flight, the stupid flight attendent gave away my special order vegetarian meal to the guy sitting across from me. Nevermind that they asked me twice if I was the one getting the meal, yes, I was Virginia Fields, seated in seat 24D. The flight attendant said she was sorry, she forgot that D was in the middle section, not the outside section. And then the guy that took my meal was like, oh, I ordered a special meal too... a low fat meal. Who the FAFHJKASHF orders a low fat meal on an airplane? All the food is already cardboard anyway!!! They don't even exist! Kosher, vegetarian, low salt... but low fat!??! It's not like the airlines are in the habit of handing out sticks of butter. Anyway, I had to seat and watch said jackass eat my dinner and he didn't even say he was sorry. Alas, Jeremy said that is was all miscommunicatiom and maybe he wasn't a jackass. But my conclusion was confirmed when we got off the plane and went our separate ways only to find myself at the baggage pickup turnstyle thingy only to find Mr. Jackass who stole my dinner squeezing himself into the 6 inches inbetween me and the turnbelt to stand DIRECTLY in front of me. Jeremy literally had to hold me back. Jackass finally ran off to stand in front of other people who where waiting in front of their little section of the turn belt, patiently waiting for their luggage. Alas, people are jackasses.

So, we get our luggage without further problems and headed to the avis bus to get our rental car. It was 9 pm Hawaiian time, so 2 in the morning KY time, so with no dinner, no naps, and a jackass to top it off, I wasn't a happy camper. Then the Avis bus drives past us and we end up running down airport pick up stretch trying to catch it. Of course, it doesn't stop. By this time, I expect Chevy Chase to jump out at any moment and tell us that we were in a new made for tv movie.

We finally get to the hotel after being lost for an hour, driving away downtown Wikiki. Find out we have to pay over $100 to park at the hotel garage for the week. I go to bed sad.

Sunday, we wake up and even though it is 6 is the morning, our bodies think it's 11. So, we head out walking to find a resturant. One would think that miles and miles of shops and there would be a place to find breakfast. not so much. We walked about a mile when it started to rain. Finally we stopped and ate at other hotel's resturant just so we could get out of the rain (although we were already soaking wet). When we get back to our hotel, we realized that if we had turned left, instead of right when we started walking, we would have ran into 10 or so places to eat breakfast.

So, for lunch, we decided a different approach. We would head out of town and find a place to eat away from downtown so we would have to pay for parking. One would think that somewhere outside of downtown Honololo, there would be places to eat lunch. not so much. an hour later, we finally find a place, in a place two towns over. They still where charging for parking.

More to come on a later addition of "why hawaii isn't too hot", including pictures.

Fields and Friends

Today was a great day. The sun was mostly out and even though it was cold, it wasn't snowy, sleety or dreary. I got to sleep until almost 7 a.m. John and I went to lunch at my least favorite place, Golden Corral but it turned out all right. We went later than usual and I was getting edgy because my blood sugar was on the border of being low. But it wasn't as crowded as usual (although it was crowded) so I didn't feel I had to push anyone aside to get to the food in time. I ate a small handful of candy orange slices first thing for both physical and mental health. Then I concentrated for the first part of the meal on not gripping at John because he had to clean the glass in the livingroom table before we left, even when I told him I needed to go eat right then. The last half when my level was approaching a better level, we talked about our vacation coming up and that always makes me smile. John asked what the weather is in Mrytle Beach this time of year. I said who cares, it's the beach. I wish I was leaving yesterday and staying about a month. But next Saturday and a week will be great, too. I took my 7 day library book back in the nick of time. Then I went shopping for new shoes. The ones I got last year are really worn out. I found two casual pair at PayLess by Tumbleweed. Next I headed over to Jefferson Mall where JCPeney had all their shoes on sale and got a pair of dressier ones-not dressy, dressy but business dressy. It was time for supper so I ate Chickfila at the food court. I decided I need something new to wear on vacation so I went to Sears and tried on lots of clothes but limited myself to one new outfit which I really like. I got a soft unsalted pretzel from Annie's at the mall and got home around 8:45p.m. The best part of the day was I don't feel worn out. I didn't get tired or drag walking like I have been. I just feel happy with no except for added. I wish everyone who reads this lots of days of feeling this way. Jeremy and Virginia, I'm glad you missed the sleet, snow, icy rain and dreary clouds when you were in Hawaii.

Tomorrow morning we will be leaving. I was able to get ahold of one of the pharmacists that I wanted to interview, so that makes me happy.

I got a cute bathing suit and matching flipflops from old navy and that makes me super happy. They are on sale.

I am really tired, so I think I will head to bed now.

I'm a little worried. And I don't want to be worried because I want to leave for spring break carefree. Here's the deal:

When I get from spring break, we have registration for fall classes. On Monday. At 1. I'm in class than so Jeremy is going to have to register for me. The problem comes in because I literally have NO IDEA what I need to take. No idea. I heard that the geriatric classes fill up really fast. So, if those fill up, I have no idea what I need to take. Not to mention UK sucks and I can't freaking find when classes are offered. So, I'm going to go to school tomorrow not because I have classes but so I can figure out what in the world I need to do.

And then, I have to interview two pharmacists. I had to people in find, but I can't get into contact with them. And I worried that I won't have enough time to do them when I get back. One of them is due on the 31st and we get back the 26th or somethign. Maybe I'll just interview a pharmacist in Hawaii. How weird would that be?

And, we have like 80 things to do for lab when we come back on Tuesday and I'm refusing to do them over sprign break. So, I'll be killing myself on Monday night, with jet lag most likely, so that is going to suck.

Fields and Friends

Yesterday was a miserable day at work. BUT when I got home, it was sunny when I walked Missy. I went in and then Virginia stopped by. It was better than any ray of sunshine. She was able to pick up the can goods her dad had got her for her birthday and we (I) forgot to take to Lexington. I just finished a book that Jeremy wanted to read and I sent it home with her. I was able to help her with a school assignment. (It only involved telling her the medicine I take.) She told me about Jeremy's promotion (which he should have gotten years ago) and that made me feel even better. She waited at my house for Rebecca to call and say she was off work while I went to the dentist . The dentist visit was the fastest ever. No waiting and no cavities. When I got home, Virginia was still waiting and her dad (my husband) had gotten home early and we were all able to visit awhile. It made him smile most of the night. Rebecca called to talk to Virginia at just the right time for me. Virginia left for Rebecca & Greg's house to see them and their new furniture just when I had to leave for RCIA. I got to see Virginia for the longest possible time!! At RCIA, I had to give the talk and it went really well. Probably because of all those happy vibes I was feeling from seeing Virginia. Gasoline had gone up again yesterday and I needed gas today. Good old Swifty on New Cut came through with gas 27 cents cheaper a gallon then every other station I passed before school. After school, the price was the same as everybody else. I saved almost $4 stopping early and wasn't even late for work. Work was 100% better today and the sun is shining. I would only feel better than this if I was walking on the beach.

A post for the loyal readers

Four tests down. I think they all went well except for Biochem. And that's because I am an IDIOT. I didn't look over the old quizzes and tests at all and he pulled like 20 questions out of 75 out of them. I felt so stupid.

I'm going to go to sleep in a bit. I'm running on about 6 hours of sleep total for the past two nights.

Jeremy cut the dogs hair. Perhaps looks a little worse for her wear. He cut her beard way too short and now she looks jawless. It's sort of freaky.

Jeremy interviewed for that management job. He should hear something about it by next week.

I have a ton today. And by a ton, I mean like 5 packets, a quiz and then CAPP and OTC which are nowhere near being completed.

I am heating up dinner now and then I am going to the library until I fall asleep and then I am coming back home only to go back tomorrow morning.

I can not WAIT until Hawaii. Sweetness.

All my bras have been hurting me lately. I feel very suffocated.

I like strawberries.

I like Jeremy.

Maybe is doing much better. I went and visited her by myself last night and it was so sad because we were walking around pet smart and she kept going up to men thinking that they were Jeremy and then tucking her tail under when she saw it wasn't him. This morning when we went in, she was much more active and I think she's feeling alot better. They said that if she was able to keep some food and water down, then we could take her home tonight. I'm sure that Perhaps will be happy.

I got alot of studying done yesterday. I was going nonstop. I have a lot more to do but not as much as I had before Saturday.

WE went out to dinner with the baby and Zoie and Jeremy's parents. Yeah, it was the 4th time this week that I've eaten Mexican which is funny because we never eat out very much at all. I'm about Mexicaned out.

Jeremy dumped beans and rice in his shoe today. That was funny.

Friday, March 03, 2006

Everything's cool, everything's cool. Not awesome but what is to be expected.

And then bam. BAM! Bam so hard you step back and think what in the world just happened. And you look at the pieces and go crawl into bed and are so detached from what's going on that you don't even care about what you're not doing.

Alas, Maybe is at the vet. And she will remain at the vet. This morning I let her out to go potty and when I let her back in, she looked all sad. So, I called her into the bedroom to cuddle with Jeremy and she wouldn't jump on the bed. And when we finally got her up there, she threw up. And then she did it again. And then again. And then again.

She has an infected gall bladder and it must be removed. And I wanted to go visit her today but I just couldn't deal with it. I couldn't deal with the fact that Perhaps won't come out of her crate because she thinks she's in trouble because Maybe is gone. I couldn't deal with the fact that Maybe whimpers when you touch her side. I can't deal with the fact that we will spend yet another thousand dollars plus to take care of a sick animal.

It's bad. It's so bad that I'm not answering the phone. And then Jeremy tells me stuff like he's interviewing on Wednesday for that job but they sat him down and said they would need him to work nights if he was needed. And here I am starring at the peices and he's off working nights.

I must go in non thinking mode cuz of these stupid tests. I'll be going to the library with some girls from school tomorrow. No emotions allowed. At least not until two weeks from now.

Oh, and Chris from pharmacy school is no longer my friend. I've come to think that we were never really friends in the first place. Cuz when you get in a fight with a friend, the lack of not having them should be troublesome. But today has come and gone, and I was actually relieved that I did not have to talk to him. I don't know what he expects from me, but a line was crossed and I'm not going to put in the category of "oh, he was just joking." I've done that way too may times when my feelings have been hurt.
I am getting sick and that makes me sad because blocks are next week. My throat is throbbing (is that a word?) as we speak. Or as I write.

Gotta gotta gotta gotta study Gotta gotta gotta gotta study Gotta gotta gotta gotta study got to got to study!

Wednesday, March 01, 2006

I came home from the easiest lab EVER today (which was a really nice relief) and was on the couch eating a snack by 5. Around a quater to 6, I decide to take a nap until Jeremy got home from work. I ended up sleeping until 11 pm. And I tried to go back to sleep but couldn't. So, I got up and did a bit of homework and now I'm just waiting to get sleepy. I'm working out early in the morning and I really wish I were asleep. Tomorrow if going to be a long day. Working out at 6:15 and then I have class from 8 until 4:15. I hope I'm not exhausted when I get home because I have a lot of studying to do for blocks. They are coming up fast. They come even faster when a 45 minute nap turns into over 5 hours and I didn't get anything done.

Do you ever think about people and say "wow, they're disgusting"? Maybe not about how they look, but how they think or act? I wish I could cover them up and make them disappear. Wouldn't the world be such a much better place if all the disgusting people were gone. All you would need to do it blink and they could be magically moved to Digusting People Land.
