I think this may be the longest that I have ever gone without making a post. I think the problem lies in facebook. you can put mundane stuff on that, but the other stuff doesn't seem important enough to make a blog about.

Christmas went really well, but I am very tired from it. I had to work in London yesterday for a 16 hour day, and then I picked up a shift today at Southland because I guess someone called in sick? But, I am only free to work like 2 days the entire month of Jan for CVS, so I'll make it up now I guess. I am only working 10-6 today, which is much better than 8-10 with an hour drive one way to get there.

Next month I'm at UK.

This time next week, I'll be in Vegas. I'm excited.

Tickets for California have been bought. I'm excited about that too.

Sunday, November 15, 2009

pretty lazy weekend. I don't really like lazy weekends.

I got all my reading done this weekend.

Jeremy's IT band has been hurting him and it's been really frustrating because he hasn't been able to run on it. I hope that it gets better sooner rather than later.

if your goal in life is to be a stripper and/or hooker, then please wait until you lose that extra 20-30 lbs before you come to the gym dressed like one.

it's only 8pm, but I'm thinking about going to bed. isn't that lame?

I wish Jeremy were here. I'm pretty lonely. and I feel pretty fat and bloated.

and my toe is infected.

just call me negative nancy.
I went to bed at 9pm last night. Jeremy was listening to live music until 2am. How does that work?

Turtle is sitting here chirping at me and I can't find her string to play with her!

EVERYTIME I take iron supplements, I immediately get clogged up. Lame. My breakfast this morning with consist of metamucil cookies.

Thursday, November 05, 2009

i love the Jeremy.
I need to stop being so lazy.
I need 4 more hours in every day.
I have to work this weekend.
Jeremy is out of town for the next three nights

Is the world insane? Am I the only pharmacist who refuses to sell cigarettes at the pharmacy counter? And no crazy lady, me eating a potato chip is not equivalent to you smoking cigarettes. Because I will eat a handful and then go get 30 minutes of exercise like I do every day. You, on the other hand, will smoke a pack and then go buy another pack. You can't exercise off lung cancer. Or pharynx cancer. Or larynx cancer. Or esophagus, bladder, stomach, cervix, kidney and pancreatic cancer. Not to mention acute myeloid leukemia-- no matter how many crunches you do, that ain't going away. AND, I wasn't eating potato chips, it was popcorn! If you're gonna scream at me because I won't sell you cancer, don't threaten me and say I'm going to get high cholesterol and die of a heart attack. Because I'm pretty sure I won't. You have a 1 in 10 chance of developing lung cancer, and when you do develop it, you have a less than 50% chance of living past 5 years. The chances of me getting high cholesterol and dying from an MI is pretty slim, considering I've been a vegetarian for 13+ years and do cardio 6 days a week. And yes crazy lady, going to school for 8 years and earning a Doctor of Pharmacy degree does give me the right to have a professional opinion. What the heck are we doing as health care providers? why does a patient think it is acceptable to throw a fit when a pharmacist directs them to the front store for cigarette purchases?

My throat hurts on my day off. And my feet are cold. I guess the only solution is hot chocolate and some mismatched slippers.

Off to study some Florida law!~

Jeremy is safe and sound. Maybe not too sound since he only got 3 hours of sleep and when this is all said and done he will have been in a van for 30 plus hours. He ran his first leg with a 7:15 mile pace. I think he is running his 2nd leg in 45 minutes or so.

He was out of cell phone service for 12 hours yesterday, which sorta freaked me out. we had scheduled times that we were suppose to talk, and I was worried about the rain and the freaking tornados that were landing in KY. He was lucky because it stopped raining just for the time that his van was running, and then it started again when the other van took over. Sucks for them. Poor wet puppies.

Anyways, I was also sorta freaking out because his co-worker sent him a message on his facebook asking if he checked his email because it was good news. Of course, I wanted to see but didn't have access to his email. Needlessto say, when I finally got ahold of him, apparently his corporate job will no longer be laying off all their revenue management staff. Which is AWESOME! we will no longer have to live like he is going to be losing his job in January. I've been busting my butt with extra shifts at CVS, and putting $350 a week into savings, and freaking out about our future. Although, the email was still alittle vague which makes me worried. I'm sure they will talk about it more on monday.

Speaking of Monday, I have it off! Never before have I appreciated Columbus Day until I worked a government job. It is AWESOME. I still have to work this weekend, which is a little suck, but Jeremy isn't home today, and he plans on running 20 miles tomorrow for his marathon training, so I guess I can manage. SUnday will hopefully be a short day.

Saturday, October 03, 2009

Do you hear that? That is the peaceful hum of me not working. I have this entire weekend off, and I plan on making the most of it. I got up this morning with Jeremy, and we went running out at Todd's Road. I got another 9 miles under my belt, and Jeremy broke 500 miles and there was a banner and champange at the end. Pretty cool. I am very proud of Jeremy.

Then we went to Cosi for breakfast with the runners, then home, napped, and I woke up to have applesauce as a snack. I don't know what dinner will be, but I'm thinking something very unhealthy. Chinese, takeout pizza? the options are endless. I do plan on being somewhat produce and work on Florida law. Jeremy is watching the Notre Dame game on TV.

Tuesday, September 29, 2009

I got a new watch 2 weeks ago or so. It was on sale at CVS for $7. I've been rotating it with my other watch my mom got me a few years ago because it is still perfectly good

So, I keep trying to put both watches on. It's like an instant reflex if I see a watch laying somewhere, i try to put it on, regardless if I already ahve one on. Isn't that funny? funny haha, not funny queer.

I thought of somethign to write, and then I forgot it. maybe I will remember later on today.

I need to be more efficient with my time.

Opps!
Happy delayed anniversary and birthday to Rebecca and Greg, and Lissa (respectively).

Thursday, September 17, 2009

again, this week has flown by. Interestingly enough, I don't feel like the week is coming to an end. I have to work tomorrow night inpatient, and then I work all day Saturday in outpt. Getting to work on Saturday and getting home that evening will be interesting. The UK and UofL game is Saturday at noon. Suckiness.

I have Sunday off, but then it will be 12 days straight working. I will be working 13 hours at CVS too, so I'll be extra tired. I have both days off on October 3 and 4th, so that will be a nice rest.

Saturday, September 12, 2009

Happy Birthday MOM!!

Wednesday, September 09, 2009

my 8 hour day aways migrates to a 12 hour day. why is that?

I will now go to bed, because my 12 hour day to day really should have been a 14 hour day. So my day tomorrow will start at 6am in the office to work up neurology patients for clinic tomorrow, make a powerpoint for grand rounds on Friday that has to be reviewed by my advisor, and work up my actual medicine team patient.

and I didn't do two meds recs today because my patients were suppose to be discharged. highly disappointed when I checked at 5:45 when I was leaving today and they were still admitted. what the hell... my team shouldn't tell me they are leaving when they aren't. makes me look like I'm slacking on work.

Tuesday, September 08, 2009

Long weekend. I'm sorry if I made anyone disappointed.

I'm glad that I got to leave work today, not too late. Not on time, but not too late.

Thursday, September 03, 2009

I ran a mile tonight in 7:39.

Tomorrow I am taking a half day at work. I was going to take a full vacation day, but I have to work on my research project because I'm so far behind.

Saturday, after Jeremy runs his 19 miles (and showers) we are going to drive up to Ohio and then on Sunday we are going to Cedar Point. And then back on Monday for Aaden's birthday.

Planning our trip out west for January. I think we can get a set of tickets for $259 per person, which isn't that bad at all.

Working on the 12th (mom's birthday) from 8a-10pm at Southland Drive. I haven't worked at CVS in a few weeks, so the extra $500 or so bucks will be nice. we have car insurance due this month for my car, and I think next month for Jeremy's.

Tuesday, September 01, 2009

Today I start my new rotation rounding with the medicine teams, and I also work my first inpt shift (we actually get paid pharmacist pay for 4 hours!).

My research project is going ok. i'm alot further along that other people, but I really need like 4 hours everyday to work on it, and that doesn't happen.

Chris Blogs from LA

Quick post today, ladies and gents as I am on call at the West Los Angeles VA once again. Not a whole lot of new since last time. Lissa's still going to play practice 4 nights a week plus Sunday afternoons, so we have only had an hour or two to spend together on most nights. But, we take advantage of what we can. We saw Inglorious Basterds last night which was endlessly gruesome and ridiculously bloody (read, lots of scalping) but pretty entertaining. Not as good as Pulp Fiction clearly and really, I might prefer the Kill Bill series. But still a keeper.

Our air conditioner went to shit a few days ago, this at the beginning of a record heat wave with temps over the 100 mark in some areas. Luckily, our landlord is a decent guy and brought a portable unit over on Friday that has made all the difference. For a few days though, it was absolutely miserable in our apt. No word on when the permanent a/c is to be replaced.

Me, work-wise, I'm on Neurology inpatient right now and it blows ass. We have, on our team, 4 psych residents, 4 medical students, and two neurology residents which equates to sitting around doing jack all day waiting for consults that never come and not learning anything. At the hospital I'm at now, their neurology service is purely a consult service, so there's usually only 5 or 6 patients to round on in the morning on any given day. Absolutely worthless. But alas, 2 1/2 more weeks and I can get back to psych. I have inpatient UCLA psych next which should be much more satisfying.

Let's see, oh yes, social commentary on world happenings. Um... This couple that kidnapped the girl for 18 years are beyond my comprehension. News out today, however, is that the girl was working for him and had access to a phone and computer, so it will be interesting to see what kind of brainwashing was going on to keep her quiet. How they can plead not guilty in court is beyond me.
LA fires are abound, as the heat has been increased and the atmosphere dry, but none of them are anywhere near us. I did smell smoke this morning for the first time, but that seems to be a wide-spread phenomenon at the moment. There's a Hurricane headed towards Baja that won't give us any problems, but might actually bring some rain which will help the fires. It hasn't rained but maybe one sprinkle and one cloudy day since we've been here. It's always cloudy in the morning until around 8:00 when all clouds go away and the sun takes over. Something about the 'marine layer' from the ocean which lets all the plants stay pretty and flowering.

Hmm, I guess that's all I'll say for now. If it gets unbearably boring later on, maybe I'll dump some more mindless drivel on here later. Hope all is well in KY and give the dogs scratches for me. Zippy too.

Thursday, August 27, 2009

It's like I start the week on Monday, and then random Thursday shows up. Where are the weeks going?

Saturday, August 22, 2009

we were maybe going to go to the State Fair today, but that after reconsidering that the last time I went, it wasn't that enjoyable, we decided to stay home.

Jeremy ran 18.3 miles this morning. I slept in. I did go to the gym and burned 1000 calories on the ellipitical. I wanted to go for 2000, but Jeremy showed up and I felt guilty for making him stay at the gym has he had just ran 18.3 miles.

We later went to the bank, Greek festival, and Jeremy went and got new running shoes. and we ordered pizza and pigged out, watched iron man and I worked on finishing robinson crusoe which I think I have been working on for like 2 months.

right now I am drinking diet caffeine dr pepper with a straw and trying not to get hiccups.

Here's the deal.

I'm a big believer that you make your own happiness. No person, place, thing, or group can do it for you. With that said, I also believe that people can certainly bring you down. When my own world is falling apart, here's what I don't need:

-don't make me feel like you are only interacting with me because I have a job that will eventually make alot of money. If we haven't been close for years or ever for that matter, there isn't a reason why we should be close now
-on that same note, there is a problem when I feel like when I'm down, you feel secretly happy
-don't pretend we are friends and put on a game, but then make me feel extremely uncomfortable and upset when you hang out with everyone else except me after work
-when I am struggling, and you think you know I'm struggling, don't gossip about me behind my back. and then don't send me the gossip to read. if my marriage is falling apart, I don't want to be asked about it on facebook
-if something is going on with you (and I still don't know what it is), don't bring me down with you. I'm emotionally unstable and have severe anxiety at times, and when i go down I go down hard. And I'm the only one who can get me back up, and it's alot of work and effort and the recovery is not easy.
-don't ignore me and make me feel like I am the lowest priority. if you are the most important thing in my life, I need to be the most important one in yours
-don't think you can get away without telling me why you love me. I deserve better.

Friday, August 14, 2009

I finally get a day off tomorrow, and it is much needed. I may have to work in Danville on Sunday from 10-6, which means 9-7 because it is an hour drive. I told the scheduler that I had a really rough couple of weeks, so if she could find someone else, I would appreciate it. She hasn't gotten back to me yet, and that was on Wednesday. i guess I will text her tomorrow night and see what it going on. If I could have two days off in a row, that would be awesome.

Tomorrow, I am running the midnight summer's run. I actually think I am the best shape I have ever been in running wise for this 5k. I guess being stressed and feeling like your world is falling apart is a good motivator to go to the gym and push it extra hard. For a while there, I was just running until my mind stopped racing, and my anxiety got under control. it didn't really last long.

Anyways, I'm better now. I was the classic case of depression for a good 2 weeks. Crying every day, worthlessness, isolation. Jeremy didn't help.

Tuesday, August 11, 2009

I worked last night until midnight, and I am exhausted this morning.

And, I made my first mistake (that I know of) last night. I gave out a three day emergency supply of metoprolol tartrate instead of metoprolol succinate. one in extended release, the other is dosed 2 times a day. I realized it 3 hours or so after I dispensed it, which it's lucky that I realized it at all. I called the poor woman at 11pm to tell her, but I only got the answering machine. Best case scenerio: she hasn't taken the dose, and checks her voicemail in the morning, hears my message, and stops by the pharmacy at 7 am when we open. Worse case scenerio: she takes the med, suffers severe bradycardia and dies. here's hoping the later doesn't happen. It was only 50 mg tabs, this death is highly unlikely. but you never know. I'm going to call Jennifer right when the pharmay opens to try and get her to call again today. It's going to be hectic there because they are rowwing (is that the right word?) over into a new computer system. Which I haven't been trained on yet. I think I'm going to decline my new CVS shift, especially if it is a midnight one. I need a break.

Saturday, August 08, 2009

this has been a rough few weeks. my self esteem is into negative numbers, and I'm very lonely. I don't remember how to be dependent upon myself for happiness. baby steps baby steps.

I need to have fun.

I need to stop caring about what other people think about me.

I need to be content with my actions, my speech, and my beliefs.

I need to get things done.

I need to figure out what's going on with Jeremy and me.

Seriously, someone with an IP address from Brazil is typing in a google search engine various combinations of "virginia and jeremy fields friends family blog" every few days. Who are you? I'm pretty sure I don't know anyone in Brazil. are you just someone who randomly found this blog or what?

Friday, July 31, 2009

So, Jeremy and I have been working through a few things lately. Different priorities. Rest assure that if I want to talk about it, I will.

I stubbed my toe and cut it. it hurts.

I am working 8am to 10 pm tomorrow at CVS. I'm glad that I'll be making $700, but it's going to be a REALLY long day. Do you know it costs over $3 a day for my student loans in interest. That makes me sad.

And who is reading this blog from Brazil?

Chris Blogs about LA

Sitting on call at the west LA VA, and things are pretty chill at the moment (finds wood to knock on) so I'll take the time to do a quick update.

Work is going well, I'm in the psych ER this month filtering through the truly mentally ill and the punks trying to get a written psych eval so they can go get prescription marijuana from one of these phony lame excuses for doctors; not that it seems to be required these days, but some of these for-profit prescribers are asking for it now to help cover their butts legally. Which, of course is a gross misappropriation of resources, against all ethical standards, and illegal, so we're doing our best to involve the authorities as they come. Truth be told, it's only been 5 or 6 people that we know of, but it's still irritating. I digress.

But yeah, I'm on call which is typically a 28 hour shift. Go in at 8 am, work your regular day, go to call site, deny about 12 requests for unneccessary IM haldol, work till 8 am, go back to rotation site, tie loose ends, hopefully leave by noon. Exhausting, but we don't have to do it very often. Most months I only have 2 or 3 calls.

Moving on to more exciting fare, Lissa is doing pretty well on the acting scene. Her biggest coup so far has been landing a role as Anelle in a theatrical version of Steel Magnolias. It will be at the Covina Performing Arts Center and will run for a month starting in September. Also exciting is the possibility of a feature film in the works. A writer called her today for a new vampire flick that Castlerock has offered to buy and out of 1500 submissions, felt like Lissa might be perfect for the main supporting role. The only caveat is it films in Pittsburgh, but it would only be for a couple weeks tops and could be a big break.

Other things she has done so far have included work as an extra on It's Always Sunny in Philidelphia (girl at party) and Make it or Break it (spectator), photo shoot for the cover of a Honda CRV manual, and cast in two student films. She's having a lot of fun and has been pretty successful not even considering the short time we have been here.

The other member of our little family, Twinkie, is having a blast out here. She gets a walk for potty at least twice a day and has taken up pigeon chasing as a new favorite sport. There are three small dogs in our apartment her size (two pugs and a min pin) and one large golden retriever and they have all become great friends. She still tilts her head and goes nuts if we inadvertantly say Maybe or Perhaps to her in conversation.

Ah crap, getting a page. Whatever it is, please don't let it involve poop. Oh well, I think I've said enough on here for now. We miss everyone back in KY and hopefully can get out that way sometime soon.

Rough week. Frustrated at work because I don't have a research project. And frustrated that I have things to do, and I'm being pulled from all directions.

I am glad that the weekend is going to be here soon. Although I offered to work at Southland Drive tomorrow night from 6 to 10pm, so my weekend start will be slightly delayed. But, I'll get paid for 9 hours this week, which will be money going directly to my loans.

I need more protein in my diet.

Thursday, July 16, 2009

Today was a really busy day at work today. I worked non-stop until 3:45 or so, and completely missed lunch. I got home in time to spend a few minutes with Jeremy before he went out to coffee with an old friend from highschool and I drove to Richmond to get dinner at Thai Smile and to stop by the CVS there to bring my friend Michelle surprise dinner and to help her out if she needed it. I was very tired, but am glad that I went because it really made her night. When we were on rotation together at St. Joe's, she brought me this little bag of candy on my birthday and it was the sweetest thing. So karma is a cute little puppy dog.

I'm now in a very upset and confused mood. Jeremy went out with his friend from highschool because she had something she needed to talk about. And basically it turns out that Jeremy's best friend in highschool sexually abused her for several years and even threatened her with loaded guns. Jeremy had a falling out with him before we got married and he hasn't talked to him since. it scares me that someone so evil can touch your life. Even with Faith's murderer, he is sort of abstract from me because I haven't seen him or been in the same room as him. But Jeremy's exroommate is different. If Jeremy hadn't fallen out with him, he would have been likely been in our wedding. we could still be hanging out with him. Usually I regret when things go bad between friends. but not this case. I am glad that Jeremy never made amends with him. He is evil, and sick, and belongs in jail. I am sorry for the people that are around him and do not know how disgusting of a person he is. I wish there was some how I could tell the world, but it is not my place. so i will write on this silly blog and hope that no one else ever gets hurt by him.

I wish crazy people will leave me alone. Seriously.

this is funny... it's a penguin soap opera!

http://www.ktvu.com/news/20021701/detail.html
Ran 7 miles this morning with the Todd Road Stumblers. And now I have matching blisters on my toes. sorta cute. but not so much.

I drank a crap load of water and peed a bbunch. but now my head hurts and my mouth is really dry so I have to drink some more.

I'm working in Southland tonigth from 4-10pm and my mommy and daddy are coming to Lexington tomorrow.

Subway

Has any one seen that TV commerical for Subway with Jared and Michael Phelps? It sort of shows them mirroring each other's life, but in the last shot, they both sit down together at Subway to eat lunch together.

Did anyone wonder see the irony that Jared is a person that needs like 2000 calories a day, maybe even 1500 if he's still trying to lose weight, while Phelps eats like 10K calories a day? and they were sitting down to the same lunch?

Anybody?

is anyone else bothered by the fact that it was very important for MJ to hide his children from the public eye, and one of her first appearances is in front of a packed staples center and broadcasted all over the world? What 11 year speaks at her father's funeral anyway?

Tuesday, July 07, 2009

Today I was training in inpatient pharmacy. It was pretty boring. At one point, I almost fell asleep. We were suppose to go to an MUE meeting but it ended up getting cancelled. And then in the afternoon, we went over to Leestown to meet with the pharmacist over there and see what rotations we want to sign up for.

Tomorrow, we are meeting with the Cooper Drive clinical pharmacists and thursday we are planning our schedule for the next year.

It was super hot when I biked to my car today. Thankfully it wasn't hot yesterday because I had to walk to my car when I got a flat on my tire.

Sunday, July 05, 2009

We got our first cucumber off of Jeremy's vertical garden. haven't eaten it yet, but it looks pretty good.

When I went to the gym, Kathy Griffin was on in the cinemia room. It was awesome.

Zippy and Turtle have been hanging out on top of the TV stand that Jeremy put together today. They had better live it up because this time next week they will have to compete with the new TV that we are getting.

Per request from California, the Fields has been augmented to Fields/Friends/Family. If you would like posting access, send me your email address at virginia dot fields at gmail dot com.

Ground rules:
1. No posts on religion.
2. You may not write a post gloating on me... I do not want to hear I am the best, I will do great, I am better than anyone else, and everything will be okay. (this means you mom). It makes me uncomfortable and irritated.

The first time any of the two rules are broken, there will be a warning. The 2nd time, there will be an angry phone call. The third time, your access will be revoked.
Less silence... more posts. That seems like a tall request.

We went to IKEA and the IMAX yesterday, even though previously I think I had posted that we were going last weekend. IKEA was pretty stressful. very big and very busy. But we got a TV stand. And we will be getting a 52 inch Sharp Aquos on the 9th. Tax free 1499.99. Working for the VA is awesome in case you didn't know. Everything in the canteen is tax free. yep. Our old TV and stand wil be going to my parents. They will be picking it up on Sunday the 12th. We need to dust it off for them.

Maybe is slightly freaked out. the fireworks in the neighbood has started.

residency is still going good. Next week I think I am going to be working in inpatient. We won't start our rotation schedule until the end of the month.

This morning Jeremy ran in a 10k and did really well. I slept in, and then went to the gym and did about an hour of cardio. Tomorrow if the weather is nice we are going for a really long bike ride and then maybe to the gym for weights.

This afternoon we went to the residency picnic. it was sorta strange because the UK professors totally outnumbered any VA pharmacists. It was a little strange.

We still have met one of the 2nd year residents who we are sharing an office with. I don't think she comes for another 2 weeks or so.

I am so glad that I have tomorrow off. I had to work at the VA last weekend, and I ended up working 11 days straight, including two midnight shifts at CVS. I was pretty tired by Thursday night.

Saturday, June 27, 2009

I made it thru my first week as a resident. Well, not all the way through because I'm currently workign this weekend. But, I worked today as a staffing pharmacist and I had a really good day. The tech and other resident (who is leaving next week) kept telling me how it can get really hectic. Apparently they haven't ever been to a crazy CVS. I can take any old veterans they through at me, especially when special warnings pop up for patients who are combative that pre warn you to call the VA police when patients are on the premises. Awesome:)

I really like is so far. Today when I was at the gym, I was thinking about how I could totally do this for the rest of my life. Eat, sleep, work out, love the Jeremy, sprinkling of play time and animals, and doing a job that I like (hopefully love sometime soon).... 40 years of this would be awesome.

Saturday, June 20, 2009

Amazing day today:) yesterday was pretty good too.

I'm very thankful that I have days when I love Jeremy so much I feel like I could literally burst. He really is an amazing person.

We to the farmer's market, to the store, to a movie, the gym, and now Jeremy is making Greek salad for dinner.

Tomorrow, Cincy for IKEA and IMAX.

Thursday, June 18, 2009

i;ve been slacking majorly on the blog. for those of you that didn't know, I'm now legally a pharmacist! And I've just worked 37 hours in 3 days to prove it. And made over $2000 (what?!?!?).

Alas, I'm ready to put retail on the back burner and start my residency.

I got a bike rack for my car.

Jeremy is amazing. I've missed him the past three days.

Homophobic people irritate me.

Smelling customers in Mt Sterling make me want to gag. Yuck!

I bought $47 worth of meat today. It was too good of a deal to pass up. Jeremy now has enough beef jerky to live off of for the next 3 months.

everyone that I like is moving to the west coast. what the heck is up with that?

Blogging from the road

Currently driving through Georgia. We've been driving since 5:30 this morning, so needless to say, our butts are a little sore. We got to Jeremy's parent's last night and visited before we headed to bed to get up at 4:30 this morning for an early start. They have a new puppy and it is so cute it was ridiculous. And I got it to poop outside this morning before we left, so I was very proud of myself.

We were going to stop at Cracker Barrel for lunch and one of those grill veggie skillets, but the wait was 15 to 20 minutes, so we went to Wendy's instead. We spent less money and time, and the food was very good for it being fast food.

We've had to Ipod on shuffle pretty much of the entire trip. I drove for a few hours earlier this morning, and also taken a couple of naps.

Plans for tonight: get Chinese takeout from a resturant, work out at the hotel, and veg out watching tv and reading until morning.

Only 3:19 more in driving time, according to the TomTom

I have to work today from 9-3, then I'm coming home, working out, finishing packing, and then going to FLORIDA!!! with a stop in Ashland to spend the night and drop of the dog. I haven't even really thought about the trip that much because I've been sorta overwhelmed with testing this week.

I found out that I passed the Naplex yesterday. I got the letter in the mail. I felt really silly when I opened it up; I was terried when I came out of that test because I really thought I might have failed. I needed a weighted score of 75 to pass. I got 140. I feel sheepish for even complaining abot it. I don't know the max score, but I almost got double to points that I needed. I feel much more conifident about the law. I won't be in town when it comes in the mail (Tuesday?), but I can call the board of pharmacy every day and ask if Virginia Fields is allowed to practice pharmacy in the state of KY. I checked yesterday, and it was a no. I was still listed as an intern. And they aren't open on the weekends so I can't call today.

Jeremy has limited me to one suitcase, a laundry basket, and a beach bag to take stuff in. We are going to be gone until next Sunday, so it's going to be hard to not plan for everything. I literally would take the sink if I could

The week after I get back, I am working at CVS. I don't know how many hours yet, but it may be a bunch because the pharmacy schedulor said that she was very short on pharmacists. And then I start the VA. I'm excited about, but I'm trying to get more excited about it since I will be doing it for a whole year.

And I am completely freaked out about making $50 an hour. It just blows my mind when I think about it. Some people who work 8 hours shifts don't even make that in a day. If I work a 12 hour shift a week, that will be an extra $600. it really freaks me out. I think I have an issue with being wealthy... i don't know. There are alot of cultural implications to it. Maybe I'm too frugal to have so much extra money.

I guess it's a pretty good thing to have to fret about. could be alot worse.

The Naplex did not go very good yesterday. I had a headache and was nauseated a few hours before the test, and then I had some stomach issues. I will equate the experience to pooping acid. Something was NOT right. I feel much better now, so hopefully it was a one time kind of deal.

Anyways, i felt horrible when I got home because I felt like the test had went so badly. But after sleeping on it, I feel much better. I knew a whole bunch of questions, and hopefully the ones that I did miss weren't weighted as much.

So, by this Friday I should know. I have the law test tomorrow, and I need to get motivated and actually study for it some more.

Sunday, May 31, 2009

This time tomorrow, I will be super nervous because it will be right before I take my test. Ick. I just reviewed the math section and I am good to go on that. I wish the whole test was math. the drugs I am worried about.

Just a short update before I got to bed.

Busy day this morning. We went to the Mutt Strut and then we biked downtown (in the rain). And we kicked tooshie getting to the front of the back.

Then home to take care of the kittens that are currently living in the bathtub. Saturday while I was at work, Jeremy found a kitten by the front door when he was in the garage. He ended up driving out the the humane society and dropping it off. Then Sunday, I was sitting in the back yard studyingand I heard another kitten crying. It was sqished up against the back fence freaked out because Jeremy was cutting the lawn. By the time I got it and heading to the front of the house, we found two more kittens pinned to our front door terrified. Rather than leave them in the metal boxes at the humane society after hours (for last night and today since it was a holiday), they've been staying in the bathtub (with towels of course) until I can take them out there tomorrow.

Two of the kittens think I'm satan. They hiss and spit and they are barely old enough to walk in a straight line. it's very interesting. earlier tonight, the mama was looking for them and sitting outside the front door crying. It was so sad. But, we have a cat problem around here because the neighbor feeds strays, so we can't in good conscious let them loose. Did you know that a cat and her offspring will produce 480,000 kittens in 7 years? And they would all be in our neighborhood. I think that one of the kittens will be adoptable, and hopefully the other ones will simmer down. they are so young to be such little hard asses.

Shout out to Chris and Lissa!

Dear morbidly obese man sitting in the drive thru smoking a cigarette and complaining that your Proventil is not covered by the auto insurance claim for the accident you had three weeks ago to treat the asthma attack you are having today,

Please crawl under a rock and die.

Thank you,
your loving future pharmacist

Also, congradulations to our new favorite newly weds!

hi all.

I've been busy this week. We got back from a very rainy Gatlinburg on Monday. Even though it was rainy and nasty, we still had a really good time. We were able to get in an 11 mile hike up to the top of Mount Lecount and that was really fun, although Jeremy got really bad blisters. I escaped without any issues except a bruise on my knee when I slipped on a wet piece of wood.

Other than that, I've been working and working out and studying a little bit. I need to study alot more if I'm going to be ready on June 1st. But I took off alot next week so that I can have time, so I'll get it done.

The sucky manager at work didn't change my hourly rate. And I'm totally convinced he did it on purpose. he sucks. I'm pretty sure he is satan. he's the one that I reported to the district manager and intern director about a year ago when he wouldn't back pay me correctly when my rate was wrong. So, I'm pretty sure that he did it on purpose this time so that I'll have $200 missing in human resources land for the next month or so while they straighten in out. the way he told me too was all smug and shit. He was like "I remembered it after the fact, and sent an email the next day, but I'm pretty sure it won't matter." what a dickhead!

going to the gym, going to burn 1000 calories, coming home, showering for the last time until Monday evening, dropping the dogs off at Sheabels, and then going camping!

my little dangly thing in the back of my throat has officially doubled in size. ouch.

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

you know that dangling thing in the back of your throat? I think mine is infected and may fall off. it hurts like crazy, and I think it is turning to mush. I have a cancor sore on it and it sucks.

Tomorrow will be my one week mark for my diet/exercise program. I've been eating veggies like crazy and drinking lots of fluids, but I have a feeling my weigh in tomorrow won't be too crazy. But that's good. I'm okay with losing like a pound a week as long as it isn't just water weight. Which it can't be water weight with all the veggies and water I've been chugging and the whole running to the bathroom during every commerical break because my bladder is so full.

Jeremy says my face looks skinner, but I think that is because I got sun from running yesterday.

Tomorrow I have to work from 11-8. Friday we are leaving for Gatlinburg to go camping. we still haven't packed yet. I guess we will to that tomorrow night after I get home from work. Jeremy is currently changing the oil in his car.

Jeremy also picked up the parts for my mirror today, so that should be fixed soon.

I studied a bit, went to the gym, took a nap, watched some TV, went through the closet and got two big boxes of clothes for goodwill. Now, I'm waiting around for AI to come on. I really hope that Danny goes home. hate him. with a passion.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mommies out there!

This weekend has been amazing. It has been one of the most memorable weekends ever.

Friday was my graduation, and although it stormed pretty bad, my family was able to get here fine although a tad late.

There are pictures on facebook if anyone wants to see them.

Saturday we went running (6 miles with the Todd's Road Stumblers-- I got my T-shirt), to Susie's wedding shower, and to Cheryl's graduation party, with two naps squeezed in and a chapter of studying. It was amazing.

This morning I got up and showered and tidied up the house. It is so much easier to keep the house clean when it's clean to start with. Jeremy is a little worse for wear this morning. Cheryl had wine that she had delivered from California and Jeremy said it was amazing. Needless to say, I drove home last night and now he's being a pansy on the couch with a pillow over his head.

I have to work today from 10-3, then we are running to the gym (literally), working out, and then coming home to watch the netflix we are behind in.

I'm crossing my fingers that Jeremy will regroup enough to cut the grass, plant the garden and take 3 boxes of stuff to Goodwill before I get home today.

Finally, before I end this post, I wanted to say that I love my mom dearly and I have glad that she is part of my life.

Happy Mother's Day!

In a fight between my car door mirror and the garage, the garage wins. By alot. My day has been slightly amiss. My hair dryer broke, I burned my ring finger on a light bulb, and I finally decided that a part of my car belonged on the ground rather than attached to a car.

On the good side, I now can commit a one finger crime as I am now fingerprintless.

Sigh. I haven't felt this stupid in a long time.

I'm nervous about graduation. I hope people aren't stressed out tomorrow, or if they are, they hide it from me.

Tomorrow, I need to go to the gym, cut the grass, study some, and go get picture frames. and a new hair dryer.

Luckily, the house is awesomenessly clean! So I don't have to clean tomorrow.

Sunday, May 03, 2009

Was gonna, but not no more!

I was going to go running this morning before I went to work, but it is cold and wet, so I've gotten up and studied for the Naplex instead (well, sorta-- I got distracted by email and the blog for a bit).

My goal this next year is to completely fix up the house. First thing on the list: the back bathroom. New floors, painting, fix the shower rod, defunk the trim. Jeremy doesn't know my master plan (laughing menacingly).

But I'll wait until after boards.

I really want cinnamon rolls, but Jeremy is going to a spinning class this morning and can't really have them before hand, and it would be rude for me to make myself a whole can for myself (although very tasty!).

We are going over to our friend Cheryl's house this evening after I get off work (and maybe run to the gym for 30 minutes or so). She is moving to PA, and will be missed, especially her ridiculously cute daughter Addison. We've decided that all Addison's in the world must be ridiculiously cute.

I'm DONE!!!

Just in case you didn't know... I'm done.

I just got home from CVS. I have to work saturday sunday monday and tuesday, but all is good. Making some money is good.

Allergies really suck.

I can't believe Adam was in the bottom two. That was very surprising.

I'm really for Florida!

Tuesday, April 28, 2009

I had my last presentation in pharmacy school today. It went okay, and my preceptor liked it, so all is good.

I though I had my last project finished, and then I got about 10 plus more hours of work to do on it. I've spent about 5 hours on it, and I'm throwing in the rag. The student next month can finish it up. I'm very tired. It's alot of work.

Jeremy and i decided that it would be awesome if we could train the animals to clean the house while we were gone. The cats could push all their hair balls into little bills, and I'm sure the dogs could learn to fold the clothes:) That would be awesome if we came home one day and Turtle was in a little maid's apron.

This weekend, Jeremy and I cleaned out the garage and then we went last night to get some shelving. It looks awesome! I finally threw out/recycled/sent to goodwill a bunch of stuff from high school. I had pay stubs left over from ole Mary T. It felt good to get that taken care of. and now our garage looks really nice.

two more days of rotations and then I am done forever! that's craziness.

Quick update before I got to bed.

Slightly behind on my Naplex studying. I think I will be able to catch up on Saturday. hopefully.

I ran 6 miles today. the last mile was the hardest, but Jeremy joined me and made me push harder.

I only have to edit my presentation, finish 5 pages of the peds formulary and follow up on some Kardexs and I am done with rotations. less that a week!

The dogs got a bath today. Per Jeremy, they smelled like death. I couldn't smell it that much, but they got a bath. Then when we went to the gym, they had a party with the kitchen trash can. Which was sorta silly, because there wasn't even anything good in there.

I am excited about vacation time. It's going to be great! Plans are following into place like crazy.

I wish my legs would shave themselves:)

Sunday, April 19, 2009

I am very tired. I just got home from the gym. I wish I could instantaneously be showered and lying in bed studying for the Naplex. Sadly, there is at least 6 minutes of showering and drying work to be done until I can be there.

Apothecary ball was last night. And so was Heidi's wedding. Social events are so weird. I have a good time while I'm at them, but then afterwards, I feel really regretful. Isn't that strange? It's almost like I wished I had never gone, even though I had a good time. I must have some weird interaction complex. sign.

Maybe in being extra needy this evening. she is sitting on the couch panting. I think her nose may be itching. She keeps doing an Elvis sneer.

I had to work today at the VA. I went in yesterday too for a couple of hours because there was so mess up with the schedule. I dislike shady people. I wasn't scheduled to work because I traded shifts with Laura because she needed the 4th off. anyways, I went in anyways to show my committment to the ole VAMC.

We finally got our programmable thermostat. It took a really long time to get it. So far, I've been really cold. but I think it will get better once the weather outside gets warmer.

Yesterday Jeremy and I went to Marshalls and I got a dress to wear to the Apothecary Ball. It had this ugly snake buckle on it, so we went to Michael's next and get a replacement bucket for it and it looks really nice now. And we went to Babies R Us to get Liz and Tim a baby shower present, to the bank, and picked up lunch. And we stopped by for me to get a hair cut, but it was a 30 minute wait and we didn't want to wait that long.

Now perhaps is being needy.

Jeremy and I just got back from the gym. I'm glad that we work out everyday. Exercise really does make you feel better about yourself and gives you more energy. I've been reading off Pharmacy Law and it sucks. The review books just references all these online links to read up on law, and it sucks because I hate reading things off of a computer screen. So, I guess I will be reviewing pharmacy law in sections.

I think I may call it an early night tonight. I'm tired.

Thursday, April 09, 2009

Jermey is taking a half day tomorrow. He has a whole list of errors to due, and then he has to meet the KU guy. Apparently the guy came today, and Jeremy got the days wrong. All is well though because he can come tomorrow.

So, I've removed two bird nests from the backyard tree. This mornig there was an irate bird on the fence glaring at the tree. She is insane. Seriously, Maybe literally tries to climb the tree whenever there are birds in it. that can't be good for raising a family. I just don't understand why they keep coming back to that tree when there are two perfectly good trees in the front yard.

I am very glad that tomorrow is Friday. I have Saturday off, but I do have to work at the VA on SUnday. I think. I should double check that.

I parked under the tree at my rotation, and when I came out today, my car was completely covered in bird poop. Like a ridiculous amount. I guess word travels fast and the bird from our yard has been talking smack. Bunch of little punks. Jeremy washed my car for me though tonight and that was very sweet.
It's only Thursday, but I feel like it should be Saturday already. this week has been very long.

that is all.

I'm not very exciting.

Sunday, April 05, 2009

Man, time flies when you have to work everyday of the weekend. Friday night I had to work at CVS, Sat I was at the VA, and today I'm back at CVS for a 10 hour shift. But, I have a feeling the time will go by quickly today. and if not, I have articles I need to read.

I love the Jeremy.

Wednesday, April 01, 2009

Hi all... sorry I haven't been writing very consistently.

Today is the first day of my last rotation. and then it will be graduation time. This month hopefully won't be too bad, although I've heard it through the grapevine that I have a lot of projects and presentations to do. It will make time go by fast.

I have my study schedule set for the boards. I start hard core on the 15th, but until then I'm studying up on the top 300.

I spent like a hour vacuuming last night and when I woke up this morning, there was hair everywhere again. It sucks having animals when they are shedding their winter coat. Zippy's the worse because you can see his hair more. oh well. gotta love em.

Thursday, March 26, 2009

Due to the crappy weather, the smell that my car was making last night on the way home from Danville, the fact that Jeremy never checked out the above mentioned smell even though he said he would, that I'm still confused as to if my sister is free to see me or not even though I've asked her multiple times, and I'm generally in a pissed off, gross mood, I will not be going to Louisville today.

Apparently there was a communication breakdown, and with my car smelling like burnt rubber, I can't get up the motiviation to go to Louisville to spend time with people when only 1 of the 3 people I want to spend time with has gotten back to me on when they are free today.

Saturday, March 21, 2009

Jeremy gave Perhaps a hair cut and she looks super cute.

I went to the gym with Jeremy and we only stayed 8 minutes. The cinema room was playing basketball, the stair climbers were full, and the only there was a squeaky machine next to mine. I'm still irritated about it, and feel guilty about not working out more when I wanted to do an hour.

Tomorrow, I have to work at CVS from 10 to 8. I hope I'll be able to stay up that long.

I have to finish a journal club for tomorrow. It's a pretty sucky article and I don't want to finish it. I think I just have another hour of working on it and it should be done.

I'm ready to be done with rotations.

We are planning a trip down to Gatlinburg to go camping in May, and a trip to Cedar Point in June. It's frustrating to plan because I don't know when I will schedule to take the boards.

I'm worried too about moving down to Florida and finding a job and making sure we live in a nice neighborhood that isn't too expensive. I hate the I worry so much.

I also hate basketball.

I'm glad that Jeremy still loves me even when I'm in such a foul mood.

Saturday, March 14, 2009

Wednesday, March 11, 2009

I'm sneaking in and writing a blog update while sitting in the ICU. Today is the first day I've cheated and gotten online to do things besides check my email. It stinks because I don't have internet access, so I feel bad getting online like this.

I have to work on Thursday, which was suppose to be my day off. Apparently, my preceptor wants me to make up the days that I missed when I was sick. Which is sort of annoying. I don't think she likes me for some reason. But the other studebt I have working with also said she got that feeling from her. It's all sort of weird because several students have said this preceptor was great. I don't get it. I'm still offended that she didn't check on me when I was sick. I told Jeremy that I was going to write about it in my evaluation.

My current issue is that I hate the way I smell. I smell like that Danville apartment, especially the clothes that I am wearing today. I brought this outfit last week and left it in the closet, and it really smells. Not bad, but not like me or Jeremy or our house, so it is driving me crazy wearing it right now. When I get to the apartment, I'm immediately changing and taking a shower. Gross.

Too bad I have to wait 7 hours before I get off. Maybe I will be able to leave early if my preceptor leaves early.

Sunday, March 08, 2009

I'm going back to Danville. Likely in four hours. it makes my stomach churn just thinking about it.

I told Jeremy that I don't think I can stay there and will likely drive home every evening. it's a horrible place. horrible.

It sucks that March is such a long month. I could just say, oh, I only have 3 more weeks. But no, I have three weeks and two days because I have to go back up that last Monday and Tuesday. it sucks.

Jeremy is coming back up with me (seeing as I don't have a car), and he is going to help me clean up at the apartment and throughout food. We left in a big hurry.

Anyways, I think that I will not to be able to go to Louisville as much this month. I haven't actually talked to my preceptor yet, but I think that I will have to make up the 2 days that I missed and work 5 days a week. So, the only day that I will be available with be on Saturdays. so I will be bringing Jeremy when i come. Just because I couldn't stand being away from him when he's not working and I'm at home. I will let you know. Maybe my preceptor will be nice and tell me not to worry about ti.

I haven't been able to get online to check the blog or facebook, so if you need to get in touch with me during the week, you can reach me by my yahoo email or my uky.edu email.

Friday, March 06, 2009

I want to augment the first sentence of my last post to stay a memorable illness that you will remember all your life, rather than life changing. That's pretty insensitive and I shouldn't have used that wording.

Thursday, March 05, 2009

You know how when people have a life changing illness that they will remember forever. I'm had mine. it sucked.

I forgot my lunch on Tuesday because I left it at the apartment. So when I got home, I ate my peanut butter sandwich, a banana, and a frozen fudge bar. Then I was tired so I laid down at 6. I woke up at 8 feeling really nauseated and with a bad headache. I call Jeremy at 8:30 and complained to him. 9:30 (I think), I threw up. Called Jeremy to complain. 10:30 I threw up. Called Jeremy to complain again. 11:30 threw up. Figure Jeremy didn't want to hear the same old story, so I didn't call. Drank some ginger ale. 12:30, threw up ginger ale. Also had first round of diarrhea. 1:00 threw up and diarrhea 1:30 threw up and diarrhea. Drank a dose of pepto and 100 cc of water because I was beyond dehydrated. mouth and eyes dry. 2:45, threw up pepto and water. Didn't taste so bad coming back up. Also diarrhea. 3:30, only had dry heaves, but more diarrhea. 4:00, dry heaves and diarrhea. 4:30, called Jeremy and complained. 5:30, had urgency for diarrhea and vomiting, but I don't think there was anything else in me. 7:00, called the rotation and told them I wouldn't be in.

Then the leg cramping and head aches started. My buttocks and my hamstrings were in a perpetual cramp that left me in agony. I knew it was because I was so dehydrated and needed to replace my electrolytes. I was convinced that I needed to take a shower because I had managed to get vomit in my hair and I keep breaking out into sweats and shaking. I'm pretty sure I was delirious this entire time.

needless to say, Jeremy came and got me from Danville yesterday afternoon. and we reached home around 5. I went to bed right away and got up around 130 for some tylenol and then went back to bed. this morning when I go up, I pooped again. not diarrhea poop, just regular poop. what the hell? the only thing I've eaten in the past 40 hours has been 2 and 1/3 saltine crackers. and I was pretty convinced my entire GI track was cleared out. I guess i was wrong.

I feel much better now. my head hurts still when I stand up, but I think that's because of the not eating. I'm going to try eating some vegetable soup in a little bit.

i'm throwing all the food in the danville apartment away.

Sunday, March 01, 2009

We are going to Danville this afternoon to check out the apartment and clean up as needed. And then we are going to eat at Olive Garden and use the coupon that my mom sent me.

I just finished making a list of all the things that I need to take and it is alot of stuff. But, I would much rather take too much stuff than take too little and need it while I'm down there. I think we are going to stop by the library to get another book to hold me over in case I finish the book that I'm currently working on.

I hope that the heat works really well. I also hope that no random people try to come into the apartment while i'm there. That will really freak me out.

Monday, February 23, 2009

I am really dreading next month and being in Danville. I don't want to be away from home. I just really nervous about it and my stomach is just aching from the nerves all of a sudden. Only 4 more days at St. Joe's, then I have to work Sat and Sun at the VA then I have to head to Danville. Blah.

I don't want to stay at an apartment all by myself. I hope I feel safe. I guess I will pack stuff like it's a camping trip. I don't know what I'm going to eat when I'm there. I don't know what I'll do in my down time. I don't know if I'm going to have a guy roommate or not. I don't know if I will be able to work out.

Needless to say, I'm stressed about it. I don't even remember if there is resturants to eat at, or a Krogers of what.

I need to get a haircut; my hair is splitend city.

I'm going to the gym to burn off some nervousness. Hopefully that will make me feel better.

Wednesday is my birthday AND I have to work and I have to miss american idol. THat's sadness. But, tomorrow, we are going to Ramsey's so Jeremy can get crawfish for Fat Tuesday and I'm going to get my favorite zuccuhini (didn't spell that right) burger so all is good I guess.

My hubby is da kewl!

Today when I was at work, Jeremy came and picked up my car, washed it, cleaned out the inside, and filled up my tank as a surprise. It was a big surprise. And he brought me a diet cherry limeade. hehe. It was very sweet.

After I got done with work, I came home and rested a while and then went to the gym. Jeremy was tired and was laying down for a while and taking a little nap. It was sorta weird because I'm the nap person of the family. Literally, I could take a nap everyday. I can't remember the last time that Jeremy took a nap in the middle of the day.

After the gym, I came home and showered and then we went out to dinner with my friend Lauren and her husband at Oasis. I had never been there before and it was pretty good. I didn't enjoy the grape leaves; they made me think of eating tobacco or something. I don't like things wrapped in banana leaves for the same reason. But, once I unwrapped what was in the grape leaves, it was pretty good:)

I didn't realize it, but it's the 2nd week in a roll that we've been out with friends. that's pretty impessive since we are not what you call social butterflies. it was fun.

I think I am going to be soon. Good day. Tomorrow I have off again, which is a pleasant surprise.

For March, I'm not working on Fridays or Saturdays. except for the first week because of a scheduling mistake. So, I'm planning on making some trips to Louisville to visit family.

Friday, February 20, 2009

fe fi fo fum

I wish I had a diet cherry limeade.

Thursday, February 19, 2009

my dogs are barking. and when I say my dogs, I'm referring to my tootsies. and when I say my tootsies, I'm referring to my feet:)

I love good deals.
If I wanted to, I could lay my head down on the computer table and fall asleep. I'm struggling with the 5:45am to 10:30 pm straight through the day thing. I just have to do it again today through.

In other news, I have Sunday off again (that brought a smile to my face!). So I will forsure catch up on rest and relaxation then.

I think I just fell asleep for a second just now.

I had a good day off. It was very relaxing, just what I needed.

I went to my rotation today and cut my left hand 4 times. It was ridiculous. My hand looked like I was going out to play football or something with all the bandaids on it.

I need nap.

I like cheez-its. Especially the kind with the two flavors in one. It's awesome.

30 days until the match!

I'm pretty sure I don't have to wash my car since it rained really hard earlier this week. I think the wet and wind blew all the salt right off:)

Our electric bill was almost $250 last month. That's some crazy stuff since it's never been over $200 the entire time we've been in this house. But I really don't have a right to complain since some people were weeks without electricity, so we should be gratefully that we didn't even go an hour without it.

Jeremy and I are going out to dinner tomorrow night with Cheryl and her husband (at her house). I'm totally convinced that it's a little weird, you know, seeing how it is Valentine's Day, but apparently no one cares about my opinion because the whole shindig is still planned for tomorrow night. It's weird right?

In case you haven't noticed, I've added a count down to the residency match day. Right hand corner... I think you have to scroll down.

Becca!

My lower neck hurts really bad. sniff.

I almost got blown away yesterday. Just in case no one knew, the drive thru at CVS is a freakin wind tunnell on a light breezy day. Don't go through it when there are 50 mph winds!

I'm off Sunday!!!! I think it may be my only day this month. I've already starting to plan the extend of my laziness that day.

Sunday, February 08, 2009

I made it in time! 350 calories on the elliptical (although I couldn't breathe the first 5 minutes--- psuhed a little too hard), and then I got home and showered. And I even have 5 minutes to spare.

I woke up this morning at like 4:30 and couldn't go back to sleep. Of course, Jeremy wasn't in the mind set to wake up and keep me company, so I finally went back to sleep around 6 and slept until 7:30. Apparently we went to bed at 9:00 last night which I didn't know. I thought it was around 10 or 11 when Jeremy got up to go to bed and I just followed him. I went to sleep pretty much right away. Maybe I was just tired from yesterday and feeling sick.

Eric and Katherine had their baby and he's pretty cute:)

man,
when I got home from work today, I felt really bad. My head was aching and my feet hurt and I was overheated. So, I didn't go and work out, which I now feel really guilty about. Tomorrow I have to go and work out when the gym opens at 9, do 30 minutes of cardio, then come home and wash up and change to go to work at 10. I hope that I feel better tomorrow. It really sucked tonight.

Jeremy is such a good husband though. he went out of his way to be extra nice because he knew that I didn't feel well. he's a pretty good guy.

Nothing too exciting going on. I finished my first week at St. Joe's. It seems like I've been there alot longer. I stayed busy the entire time today, which was nice. Time passes much more quickly the busier you are.

I have to work tomorrow and SUnday at CVS. Sunday is going to be a killer because I have to work 10-8, which is a super long time. But, I'll clear $100 after taxes which is good.

I was really stressed out earlier this week when I realized how much exactly we have in student loans. I was hoping that we would be able to pay off all of them completely by just using my pay for next year, but I don't think we will be able to. I was even trying to figure out how many days a month I needed to work at CVS in order to make an extra 20K. I think it was like 4- 12 hours shifts. that's a lot, especially when I will most likely have to go driving 3-4 hours to get to CVS's across the state.

But, Jeremy and I talked about it, and the current plan is to put $250 into savings every week for a down payment for our future amazing house, then use all the other money above our baseline $2000 that we keep in checking to pay off student loans. It should hopefully be around $3K a month, but can be less if we need to put the money elsewhere. On that time schedule, we should have all the loans paid off in less than 2 years. Hopefully.

Jeremy didn't get a raise this year. Which no one in the entire M(leaving out name cuz I don't want folks reading this who aren't suppose to) company got a raise. Jeremy reminded me to not bitch about it though; at least he still has his job, which is more than can be said for some M employees. And Jeremy was telling me tonight that he found a mistake in one of the budgeting forcasts for his Cincinatti hotel, and they are going to be $250K short. So, that likely means another lay off. I'm so glad that they really need Jeremy and the work he does, or I'll be running around with an ulcer.

I HATE it when people don't knock before trying to open bathroom doors. HATE it! What if the lock was broken? It would world is it okay just to open a closed bathroom door without knocking? it completely blows my mind. I have found maybe 1 out of 10 people will knock. The others will just try the door knob for an extend period of time, like they have to make extra sure the door is locked and it's not just randomly sticking, and there's no possible way they can maybe jingle it open because, oh, don't they try. It disgusts me. Seriously.

Tomorrow is St Joe's. wish me luck.

I guess that my interview went okay. I keep having these moments of insecurity and just feeling really stupid, but that should pass. I always feel like that after situations like these.

There are 12 people who applied for 3 spots, so hopefully I will be one of those 3. Now it is out of my hands. Keep your fingers cross. If I don't get it, CVS for me.

So, after my interview, I was driving on Alumni and I had this suddent urge to pee. After 30 secs, it turned downright painful because I had to pee so bad. I'm pretty sure there have been less times than I can count on my hands where I had to pee that bad. It was ridiculous. So, it was almost so bad that I consider stopping at a gas station or something, but since I was only like 8 minutes from the house, I figured I would just wait. I was literally thinking of anything to try to get my mind off of my poor bladder, and was busy being worried that there may be some issues getting up the hill in our neighborhood due to the icy conditions. I was even thinking if it were possible to pull over and squat by my car--- the ground was already wet. Luckly, the road was much improved, but rounding the bend to where I can see the house, in my urgency, I accidently push the garage door opener button twice, and it was coming back down rather than up when I pulled into the driveway. So, rather than wait for it to go back up all the way to pull the car in, I put the car in park and jumped out to duck underneath. I didn't actually jump out because I had to compose myself for fear of changing bladder position may cause some leakage (yes, I had to pee that bad--- it even crossed my mind during the drive if I had anything in my car that would constitute as a bed pan--- I gave up that idea due to the fact I was wearing pants--- now, if I had been wearing a skirt... it would have been a different story.) Anyways, I jump out of my car, and am half way through the garage, when I hear someone yell "excuse me ma'am!??!" When I turned around, I know the guy must have saw the look of pain on my face. The guy had stopped his car in front of the house to ask me if I had gotten any mail today, while pointing at our mailbox. I had not choice but to hobble down the driveway, pry open the mailbox which was frozen shut just to tell him, no, i haven't gotten any mail today, or any for the last 3 days since the ice storm.

The one day that I need to run into the house to pee like a race horse, I get delayed by a stranger driving down the street who decides to stop and ask some random person about their postage status while they are dashing from their car. I should have gone and peed on his car.

And if another one cares, I made it to the potty in time, although I don't think my bladder muscles can take anymore stress like that for a while.

I really irritated that Jeremy won't come home from work. He can do all his work from home. and it's getting really bad out.

I went outside and played with the doggies. It was fun, but then it got cold.

I don't think I'm going to the gym again today.

UK is cancelled, so even if yesterday wasn't my last day of my rotation, I wouldn't have gone in anyway.

my toes are cold.

I need to brush my teeth. I wonder if the library is closed?

I hope that Katherine doesn't go into labor with this weather. that would stink!

Tuesday, January 27, 2009

Today was the last day of my rotation. I got up with Jeremy and went to work with him, but didn't drive to Georgetown until 11 because of the weather. It was horrible on the expressway. Super scary. Then I left at 3:30, which is funny because that was apparently when UK cancelled their classes.

Jeremy and I got home and we were planning on going and working out. But after we were outside shoveling the driveway and I fell on my tooshie and we saw no less than 3 cars unable to make it up our hill because the road was a complete sheet of ice, we decided to stay home. I'm feel pretty guilty about it. I hope that we will be able to work out tomorrow.

The dogs were really funny because not only is the street a sheet of ice, so is our backyard. They were outside sliding around like crazy.

I just finished Emma. It was a really good book. Now I'm started on the Lost Horizon. I hope that I can make it to the library tomorrow to pick up some more books.

Thursday, January 22, 2009

Last night we were watching an inconvenient truth, and I fell asleep. I went to go lie down hoping that I would wake up in time to watch American Idol and Lost, but no such luck. And then this morning when I woke up I felt very guilty for missing it and not working out yesterday.

I have my VA interview on the 30th. My last day at Toyota is Tuesday. My preceptor is actually moving to another store, so my last day is his last day.

The drive is really dragging me down. Or winter is really dragging me down. something is dragging me down.

I wish that we had all our student loans paid off.

Monday, January 19, 2009

I'm glad we have our animals. they make me smile.

I'm at home today. I was online yesterday looking for the email address for my preceptor for next month, and realized that today was a Univeristy holiday and we weren't suppose to go to our rotation. I guess since I had to be at my rotation last month on Christmas eve and New Year's eve, I have a low tolerance for holidays.

Anyways, I emailed my preceptor and asked if it was okay that I didn't come in. I had missed a day last week to go to the funeral, so I didn't know what his response would be. But I'm home and all is good.

I just folded like 4 loads of clothes. It was covering our entire bed. But everything is folded and put up, except for the t-shirts which Jeremy asked me to leave. Apparently, he doesn't like the way I fold t-shirts, so he can take care of them:)

Plans for today:
-straighten the kitchen (I've been cleaning it everyday, so it's literally a 3 minute job)
-read in my book (watership downs)
-clean off the computer table
-watch tv
-work out
-love on the turtle
-love on the Jeremy when he gets home from work

My graduation from the college of Pharmacy is Friday May 8th from 7-9pm. Please let me know if you are planning on attending. I have to send in the number of guests I will have.

Good luck today mom!!!! I love you !!!!!!!!!

Saturday, January 10, 2009

My friend Rebekah passed away last night. I've mentioned her a couple of times in the blog. They are investigating it currently, but believe that is was an overdose on something. it's a very sad thing.

It seems like death has been following me around. I hate it when death touches the people around me.

Wednesday, January 07, 2009

Man, today was one of those "I need a beer" days. But since I hate beer, I will have to settle for a root beer and a Turtle
Not feeling the Toyota rotation. Too crowded and nothing to do, but no where to go off and hide.

I have to finish my letter of interest tonight, and then hopefully if I get a hold of Lynne to pick up my letter of recommendation, I can drop off my application packet at the VA tomorrow morning. I also have to go to the dentist tomorrow morning. I just made the appointment yesterday so I haven't told my preceptor that I'll be a little late, but I don't care.

Did I mention I'm not feeling the Toyota rotation. there is too much drama already and some people are mean.

Thursday, January 01, 2009

Oh, I'm not going to be able to walk tomorrow. I'm already hobbling around as it is, so once I sleep for a couple of ours, I'm resolved that I'll just spend the day in bed.

I hate football. I hate the voice of the stereotypically male announcers. I hate the fact that the half time show is merely a teaser... you can change the channel for 30 minutes or so, but you eventually have to change back.
