Is the world insane? Am I the only pharmacist who refuses to sell cigarettes at the pharmacy counter? And no crazy lady, me eating a potato chip is not equivalent to you smoking cigarettes. Because I will eat a handful and then go get 30 minutes of exercise like I do every day. You, on the other hand, will smoke a pack and then go buy another pack. You can't exercise off lung cancer. Or pharynx cancer. Or larynx cancer. Or esophagus, bladder, stomach, cervix, kidney and pancreatic cancer. Not to mention acute myeloid leukemia-- no matter how many crunches you do, that ain't going away. AND, I wasn't eating potato chips, it was popcorn! If you're gonna scream at me because I won't sell you cancer, don't threaten me and say I'm going to get high cholesterol and die of a heart attack. Because I'm pretty sure I won't. You have a 1 in 10 chance of developing lung cancer, and when you do develop it, you have a less than 50% chance of living past 5 years. The chances of me getting high cholesterol and dying from an MI is pretty slim, considering I've been a vegetarian for 13+ years and do cardio 6 days a week. And yes crazy lady, going to school for 8 years and earning a Doctor of Pharmacy degree does give me the right to have a professional opinion. What the heck are we doing as health care providers? why does a patient think it is acceptable to throw a fit when a pharmacist directs them to the front store for cigarette purchases?

Jeremy is safe and sound. Maybe not too sound since he only got 3 hours of sleep and when this is all said and done he will have been in a van for 30 plus hours. He ran his first leg with a 7:15 mile pace. I think he is running his 2nd leg in 45 minutes or so.
He was out of cell phone service for 12 hours yesterday, which sorta freaked me out. we had scheduled times that we were suppose to talk, and I was worried about the rain and the freaking tornados that were landing in KY. He was lucky because it stopped raining just for the time that his van was running, and then it started again when the other van took over. Sucks for them. Poor wet puppies.
Anyways, I was also sorta freaking out because his co-worker sent him a message on his facebook asking if he checked his email because it was good news. Of course, I wanted to see but didn't have access to his email. Needlessto say, when I finally got ahold of him, apparently his corporate job will no longer be laying off all their revenue management staff. Which is AWESOME! we will no longer have to live like he is going to be losing his job in January. I've been busting my butt with extra shifts at CVS, and putting $350 a week into savings, and freaking out about our future. Although, the email was still alittle vague which makes me worried. I'm sure they will talk about it more on monday.
Speaking of Monday, I have it off! Never before have I appreciated Columbus Day until I worked a government job. It is AWESOME. I still have to work this weekend, which is a little suck, but Jeremy isn't home today, and he plans on running 20 miles tomorrow for his marathon training, so I guess I can manage. SUnday will hopefully be a short day.

Do you hear that? That is the peaceful hum of me not working. I have this entire weekend off, and I plan on making the most of it. I got up this morning with Jeremy, and we went running out at Todd's Road. I got another 9 miles under my belt, and Jeremy broke 500 miles and there was a banner and champange at the end. Pretty cool. I am very proud of Jeremy.
Then we went to Cosi for breakfast with the runners, then home, napped, and I woke up to have applesauce as a snack. I don't know what dinner will be, but I'm thinking something very unhealthy. Chinese, takeout pizza? the options are endless. I do plan on being somewhat produce and work on Florida law. Jeremy is watching the Notre Dame game on TV.
