I understand where you got that impression. Of course you got your info on the "new sins" from the secular press. Most Catholics know this is just a new way to look at "sin".

I don't think most pharmacists "sin" according to this guidelines.

You forgot the seventh "sin" --violation of the fundamental rights of human nature. You'll find reference to these rights in the Declaration of Independence.

o Environmental pollution--the world is not for us to destroy but to care for. We are called to be good stewards. It's in the Old and New Testaments.

o Genetic manipulation--Using science to cause HARM and change the fundamental nature of humankind.

o Accumulating excessive wealth--Getting rich by keeping others from making a living wage.
Having so much money that you have more than you can use or even remember having while
not caring people are eating dirt in Haiti to keep from starving.

o Inflicting poverty--Paying less than living wage as an employer. Charging unfair interest rates on loans. Providing credit to people who cann't pay the bills.

o Drug trafficking and consumption--Using and/or selling illegal drugs or legal drugs without prescriptions for purposes the drug is not intended for. Drugs that take away a person's dignity and free will and livelihood.

o Morally debatable experiments--Embryonic stem cell which kills a living being. Adult stem cell is not included in this area. Adult stem cell research is encouraged.

As long as you respect people, the earth and yourself, you will be on the way to holiness even if you never set foot in a church. I pray for you everyday that you will be safe and live the life that will bring you JOY.
