poor turtle... she is going to have a nervous break down. yesterday, she hid in the closet most of the day because of the damn static electricity. she literally can't walk across the carpet without getting shocked every step of the way. her hair is just to long and fine. I ended up rubbing her down with a fabric softener sheet just so she would stop twitching. i hope that it doesn't make her sick when she cleans herself.

Why don't you try putting a humidifier in the house?? Then the air won't be so dry and poor Turtle may be less electrifying.
And your skin will be softer, too. Don't want to spend the money? Let clean water sit in your sinks and put extra water bowls close to the heating vents. Also boil water for tea or hot chocolate to put mositure in the air regularly. Or buy some pet condition for her coat.
