Well, our events for the day have gone of tracks. We were planning on going to the bank to move some stuff around, but Jeremy got the inside scoop from his Aunt last night that there is nothing to move around to. His Aunt and Uncle and REALLY frugal, even though I think they poop money. They both had government jobs, and never had kids, and were REALLY frugal, and when they bought their current house 10 years ago, they paid cash for it. it was $250,000. And they are the Aunt and Uncle that gave us $25 bucks for our wedding. Anyways, apparently, his aunt Ramona has called EVERY SINGLE bank in the surrounding area and the best interest rate you can get for a CD is 3.4%. If you deposit a $100,000. and we have one less zero to deal with, so I think we are just going to keep it in the investor's account.
So, instead of the bank, we will be going to olive garden for a very early dinner, then compUSA to see if they've actually put anything on sale. Raising your prices 30% before the holidays and then putting everything 30% off in a closeout sale equates to the same prices you had a year ago. I know it's business, but shady stuff like that bothers me. Like when a name brand drug goes generic, and the big drug company comes out with the exact same product except with a big CR (controlled release) on the end of it and an additional $150+ price tag on it. And then only difference is you can take it once a day instead of twice a day, which the patient has been doing for the past decade just fine. It hurts me because doctors do this all the time, and they aren't stupid, they know what they are doing. it's not a superior drug, it doesn't improve compliance, it just makes old folks who have to pay a percentage of the cost suffer, makes our nation's health care costs even more ridiculous, and makes the drug reps feel all warm and fuzzy after dropping off free lunch to the entire office staff and an all expense paid trip for the doctor and his wife to Hawaii for an "educational" seminar.
