What should have happened:
Monday: text to fellow daycare mom: hi, this is Virginia, Liam's mom. We will be at Jakob's party on Saturday. Is it okay if I bring his little brother Wyatt? The response: sure, see you then!
Saturday morning: txt from fellow daycare mom: hey, the weather looks bad. We are going to reschedule the party to next Friday. The response: thanks for letting me know.
What actually happened:
Monday: text to fellow daycare mom: hi, this is Virginia, Liam's mom. We will be at Jakob's party on Daturday. Is it okay if I bring his little brother Wyatt? The response: sure, see you then!
Saturday night: arrived on time to party, after driving to Richmond 30 minutes. Man meets Us At door. "Rachel didn't text you? We aren't doing the party. Jakob isn't home. Sorry" the response? Utter confusion on Liam's part, attempts to squeeze past him into house, tries to barter with man with birthday present to get inside, asks why it was rescheduled when it is sunny?
Irritated 30 minute drive back, still have yet to receive at least a follow up apology text from mother or clarification on what time the party has been rescheduled Friday. Seriously?

And this afternoon, there was a sign on the door at daycare about the reschedule. Didn't see this morning or Friday afternoon, so have no idea when it was put up...
